winforlife Posted May 18, 2006 at 02:49 AM Posted May 18, 2006 at 02:49 AM Our world would be different w/out Céline! It's difficult to narrow down to one singer since my taste in music is eclectic ranging from pop, jazz, new age to classical music. Having played the french horn and the piano, I learned to appreciate composers from different eras- Mozart, Mahler, Shostakovich, Beethoven, Chopin, Vivaldi, Bach... geez, too many to list Popular Celtic singers like Enya and Loreena McKennitt have unique styles. In that genre there a few other singers have nice voices. Female pop singers I enjoy listening to Gloria Estefan, Jewel and Sarah McLachlan just to name a few.Males singers -Garou, Cat Stevens, Barry Manillow, Julien Clerc and Josh Groban-too many to list.In general, I listen to particular style of music depending on my mood. BUT, Céline will always be my favorite singer Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
Bambam Posted May 18, 2006 at 05:59 AM Posted May 18, 2006 at 05:59 AM No doubt about it, the girl from Columbia. What's her name? The girl who is always rolling in mud and shaking her hips. The second best for sure. Quote
Frida Posted May 18, 2006 at 08:33 AM Posted May 18, 2006 at 08:33 AM Probably Faith Hill or Shania... or Lee Ann Womack or Sara Evans, I can't decide I'ts hard to imagine a world without Céline... angel_christ Posted May 18, 2006 at 11:28 AM Posted May 18, 2006 at 11:28 AM Mine would be Maneenuch Samaerasut, the Thai singer and singing teacher (I'm going to meet her once a month to duel a song with her in my singing lessons!) She's a friend of Celine at the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in Japan. And of course, she lost to Celine. But I listen to her songs and GOSH!!! what a powerful voice is this! If she had such voice like this, no doubt Celine's would be truly "The voice of god"!!! xo1hrt4celineox Posted May 18, 2006 at 09:24 PM Posted May 18, 2006 at 09:24 PM Omg, what a devestating thought...a Céline-less world ::shudders!:: Hmmm vocally, I really like Martina McBride but my favorite would probably either be Cher, Kelly Clarkson, or Alanis Morissette. SimplyCeline Posted May 18, 2006 at 10:45 PM Posted May 18, 2006 at 10:45 PM What a terrible thought! No Celine!! Yikes! However, without Celine, i would then say Barbra Streisand was the best singer. Although she would only cover the from the sixties to the ninties. For the millenium onward...Christina Aguillera! Pureceline Posted May 20, 2006 at 06:21 AM Posted May 20, 2006 at 06:21 AM Kelly Clarkson, I love she is verry good and has the same energy on stage like Celine. I saw her live this year and she really has a hell of a voice. But then again, a world without Celine... No! SuperLove4Celine Posted May 21, 2006 at 05:09 PM Posted May 21, 2006 at 05:09 PM Amanda Marshall. She hasn't made a record in 6 years and has dropped from the face of the earth, but the albums she did make are still magic.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love the song "Believe In You" that was on the "Touched By An Angel" soundtrack. If Celine hadn't become a singer, I would say that either Gloria Estefan or Cher would be the artist I would obsess over. However, Shania Twain, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Faith Hill are other artists that I love. ...Joe... Quote
