Why celine dont have an englih favourite songwriter like Goldman in France ..A writer who do for her a complete original album ??

I think when her and Sir Elton John did those duets at the H.E.A.R.T benefit concert they were GREAT. I think that Elton is a great songwriter. What do you think of him,faris ?

Yes, I agree about their duet on H.E.A.R.T. It was great! I'd like they record those songs also. Your first question is very interesting but I can tell nothing about english songwriter because I don't know about it too much

They're voices blended well, but I'm not big on Elton's own compositional abilities. But with the concept of having an English songwriter to do an album for her, it could be interesting. It would have to be one heck of a collaboration though...it's difficult to find someone who can write a bunch of songs you LOVE and truly FEEL, and who can really dive into your 'sound' to make an album true to who you are. It may only happen once in a person's lifetime, and for Celine, that's JJG.

If he makes it so well in French why not in English. He already produced some great English tracks for Celine.

I would say someone like Diane Warren or maybe diffirent songwriters like Stephan Moccio(A New Day Has Come) Corey Hart would be perfect 2.

we already know that a Diane-Warren-album would never ever happen, cause celine don't like diane, and if u look properly on the Miles to go - making of, you can see, that she also doesn't like the way corey hart works... he wants her to sing some phrases soooo often, until they're perfect in his ears. you can see celine describing him, that she only can sing one song a few times with full emotion and then it fades away.

 

and I think it's one piece of celine's way to do albums: many different writers and producers. I hope she will continue this.

well i heard that Sir Elton John wasn't very good to Celine back in the 90's when Celine wasn't that famous...

 

but yes it would be a nice idea to have a song writer to do the entire album like Barbra did with Guilty Pleasure... Barry would write good song for Celine too!!

Well if not Diane Warren,,, i would choose someone like Walter Afanasieff he co-wrote nearly all Mariah Carey´s songs in the 90´s and he wrote songs with Michael Bolton from 1990-2002.

Or Celine should let Michael Bolton write songs for her he is incredible singer-performer.

I would love the idea of a full-album collaboration of Celine & Shania (with Mutt). Shania & Mutt write some songs, Celine maybe co-writes something, then a few duets with both of them and a few solo trax, maybe one sings some songs of the other!

Plamondon is a lyricist, the music of his songs is always written by someone else.

I think Corey Hart wrote amazing songs for Céline, like "Miles To Go" or "Prayer." He uses a lot of cheesy images in his lyrics, and sometimes they sound oldfashioned, but the songs and the melodies are really good, they suit Céline very well.

 

I'd like if she worked with someone like Jim Steinman who can write her some bombastic rock-opera themes, something like "It's All Coming Back" or like some songs by Queen, with that extra touch, or songwriters who write light songs with blues or folk music touch.
