With Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones benched from the next “Ocean’s” instalment, Warners are apparently chasing some names to fill their conspicuous absence.

 

According to Sky News, veteran crooners Barry Manilow and Celine Dion are in talks for roles – or, I’m guessing, cameos – in “Ocean’s Thirteen”, with British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, best known as Ali G, also in talks for a role.

 

Whilst it would be a treat seeing Ali or Borat teaming with the casino robbing twelve for the film, Clooney tells the site that Cohen would be playing a new character – though no less kooky than his famous alter-egos.

 

"I think he's a great actor and I've written a role exclusively for him. I know he's a fan of my work and we're hooking up together soon”, says the former TV doc. “He will be an oddball character”.

i dont like the "ocean's" movies but it's very popular so it's a good idea...

she'll probably just do a cameo tho it could have been amazing for her to play a real character in a movie like this one - even a small role.

it's just that everybody knows her as a singer and it would seem not real for alot of people to see her as an actress all of the sudden.

this is DECENT news in terms of exposure, but, personally, including CELINE's name in a sequel is far from impressive to me; i would rather see her featured on a sountrack to a NEW film or movie, and not a multi-part saga...

George Clooney is going ahead with Ocean's 13, despite critics slating his version 12. This time, he plans to spice up the action with an eclectic mix of guest stars, to include Celine Dion and Barry Manilow, no less.

 

And I can reveal he's also trying to lure Ali G creator Sacha Baron Cohen into the new film. He told me, "I think he's a great actor and I've written a role exclusively for him. I know he's a fan of my work and we're hooking up together soon."

 

Fear not, fans, it won't be as Ali or even Borat the TV reporter - but George did let slip that "he will be an oddball character". No kidding.
