Hi does anyone believe there has been another female artist who was better than Celine, or that any of the upcoming artist today are or could be better.

 

An do you think in years to come Celine will be up there remembered like the greats, beatles, elvis ect....

There has been amazing artists before Celine and there will be after her.

She is unique, she is one of a kind and she will be remembered as a great talent, but she is not the only singer in the world.

 

For me she will always be the greatest singer in the world but I'm not saying there couldn't be other great talents.

I don't know if technically, Celine is *the* best singer in the world. But to me, she is the best singer with the perfect mix of emotions and technical perfection. For me she just has *something* that differentiates her from any other singer...am I making sense? Either way, she's my all time fave and I doubt that will ever change.

Absolutely Celine will remembered as one of the great singers. How could she not be? Even her critics cannot deny the power, emotion and range of her voice. if you had said streisand, i'd said yes perhaps they're on the same level (not really vocally i think)...but madonna.....she's a cool artist and a legend for sure...but not as a singer, as a uncompareble and ecleptic artist..

 

for what is of "miss carey"...well..i better avoid speaking my opinion out loud...

mmm... Celine is excellent and I'm a true fan of hers and no one else's, but there other singers trully great juts as she is tha I just don't choose to be a fan of. Barbra Streisand for instance, has to have one of the best voices EVER, PERIOD. But I love Céline over Barbra for personal reasons. Céline should continue to work if she pretends to be a legend, bc she's far from that today. Barbra is there, in my opinion, as she should.

OK, first of all if you were going to compare Celine to ledgendary artists who may be better than her...how about Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland...really talented ledgends like that. Madonna isn't a ledgend, she is an icon...very big difference. and MC isn't a ledgend either, she is a...i'll censor this myself, lol.

 

Asside from Aretha, who I still don't vocally put near Celine...not one of those people are anywhere near Celine's calubur...it's a totally different ballgame. Celine may not be the best (pretty close though), but she sure isn't in the same category as those people.

she's a very famous person but not a legend...she's just 38 and those singers you mentioned before are over their 50-60s.... She's got a lot of time to become a legend!

I happen to agree with BRUSTER and THEVOICE. let's try and be open, let's not be so fanatic, I have all of Celine's albums yet there are other artists with...I wouldn't say better or worse but DIFFERENT voices or talents. Artists like the great Maria Callas, Mariah, Aretha, Whitney, etc...., we can't compare, they are just different but all equally good in their own ways. Celine will be remembered for songs like My heart will go one, it's all coming back, the power of love and because you love me, those are the songs that made a mark. I was talking about a similar thing with a mate of mine a few weeks ago. There just seems to be no up and coming talent with the vocal range of the Divas we had for the ninties. (Celine, Mariah and Whitney) Those three were the titans of the music industry.

 

The nearest we seem to have nowadays is Christina Aguillera and Kelly Clarkson. (Who attempted Celine's I Surrender and failed miserably I may add)

 

For me Celine is among the best singers of the previous century and the best vocalist there is currently.

I'm able to realise that Celine's voice isn't as flawless technically as it used to be in 90's but nevertheless she's absolutely the greatest for me. And I actually think she's much more professional singer than such sluts like Madonna or Mariah or whoever else out there... But I don't mean to say Celine's the only one who's talented. No way! There are Cher, Patricia Kaas, Anastacia, Toni Braxton, Lara Fabian and I believe they are probably the best female vocalist these days but IMO Celine still has the best voice.

 

I think she'll be remebered. C'mon, she's top selling female artist!

i think that if whitney or mariah used to have a voice that could be compared to celine's, well....they've lost it...and this makes the difference, she's still there, not as strong as she used to be, but that's only beacuse, as you said it, the age of big voiced and well rounded divas IS over....

well Celine is not the best singer in the world, no one is. She is among the best. There are other great singers, both famous and less famous. For example Whitney, Mariah, Madonna, Cher, Barbara, Enya or Annie Lennox. There are others like Maria Callas and Montserrat Caballé who also have fantastic voices.

 

Celine is great cause she is her voice is unique, and she has a fantastic stage presence.

Now Céline is the best, i love a lot of singers but none of them can compare to Celine (or Christina). In a 100 points scale i would give 100 points to Christina and 101 points to Celine

 

Okey i love Mariah Carey, she is a lyrics master and singer master - that's some reason why i love her, but vocally Celine is the best!
