Has anyone heard about the recall...just wondering...I put my cd in my computer and it had a recall message that came up. It said that you could get money or free music...but I wonder if you actually have to give them back the cd...??

Sony made a big mistake putting copy-protection on the CD. -_- More info here: http://www.celinedionforum.com/index.php?s...ndpost&p=248543

Yep, you have to return your CD and they'll send you a new one. I didn't want to go through the hassle of doing that, I just won't play the CDs in my computer.

Be very happy that you're getting that message. I stupidly installed their software, because it said that the program was the only way to create mp3's from the album. And the software totally killed my fairly new DVD writer. Somehow, installing this software made my drive unable to read anything but CD's. It couldn't read any format of DVD whatsoever. And it was reading them an hour before I put installed the software. In the end I had to buy a new drive.

To Sony's credit, they sent me my new CD, which works fine. But I'm never buying any Sony computer product after this. I don't want to chance running in to any more of their copy protection problems.

And for future reference, Exact Audio Copy was easily able to read the original XCP disc and make mp3's. :whistling: "I'm not dumb! I knew the program that I already had could do that! Yes I did." :whistling:

If you really want to know what the whole Sony issue was about, you can read Sysinternal's Website. But it's very long and technical, and quite frankly, kind of boring. :P
