News about the A New Day... DVD

As these "exciting changes" has not been made to the show (I read the May, 17th topic and she didn't keep the new costumes, they were only for 500th show), I wonder why they need to re-shoot the DVD. Just for the haircut? 'Cause I can't see any "exciting changes", as they promised.

yeah i've read this...Guess the dvd will come out after the vegas gig.in this way it's better coz we can see the different changes that happened from the very begining. I saw the opening night on tv but I guess the show has changed now - new songs, hair dos, costumes..ettc......

Guys, we all are exited and impatient, but I hope it's really worth it!!!!!!!!! We need a big, great release! We need something 'de luxe' And it has to be very well advertised!!!!!!! It's a very much anticipated release, so everyone must hear about it!!! I just can't understand why Madonna's albums are so talked-about, and not Celine's

The DVD of AND should be one full show (maybe the final night or one of the shows towards the end of its run) and then TONS of bonus footage.

 

They should include every single song that was ever performed at the show (TFTEISYF, JTE, ISSW, Fever, At Last, etc). Some footage from Opening Night Live would be nice. A nice LONG "Making of A New Day..." that includes interviews with Celine, Rene, Franco, Mia, etc. Clips of rehearsals in Belgium, footage of the graphic design company making all the backgrounds for the screen, interviews with the costume designers (with a run through of all the different stuff she's worn), Vegas rehearsals, interviews with the dancers and musicians. Maybe even a little tour of the Colliseum.

 

It should be like two discs. One with the full show and extra songs, and the other with all the "Making Of" footage.

You're right, It will must be a BIG release. Including :

 

3 shows ( Première ... Final )

 

A New Day "Making of"

 

"Special Backstage Tour"

 

"Exclusives Interviews"

I have a feeling we won't be truly happy with whatever they do for this DVD. They should give Opening Night and the Finale...the beginning and the end, and all the miscellaneous songs performed between then, plus rehearsal footage and behind the scenes. But how realistic is it to get that?

Oh yeah, a day in the life will be nice! Seeing her as soon as she pulls into the Colliseum, up until she gets back into her car. Seeing her do sound check, hair, make up, reading fan letters, doing meet and greets, etc.

 

I don't think its so far fetched. For the most part, everything we're asking for has been filmed. Its just a matter of putting it all together.

 

Maybe they can release two versions....one of just the show, including songs that used to be performed . And then other one with all the extra bonus material in some really beautiful packaging. So they can have two price points, since the one fans like us want will end up costing $40.

Uhm, wasn't an "A Day In The Life Of" doc already planned? IIRC, even two of them: "A Day In The Life Of Celine" & "A Day In The Life Of The Dancers".... so there is a good chance we'll still be getting those docs (if they were already made), they won't let it get to waste (I hope)..

I don't think it would cost that much. Barbra Streisand's TV special with 5 DVDs was 60 $ (it was released by Rhino), and moreover I doubt they will release more than one DVD - and we can be happy if they put a full concert (if !) on it.

 

I really don't know Sony's tactic. They should have released it for the 500th show, I bet they want to make some money around Christmas

I hate it when they say stay tuned for more exciting news and then the news is something like a new shirt has been added to the boutique. I understand that they are trying to get us excited about things, but give us some news to be excited about!
