Mozinha Posted February 10, 2006 at 10:21 PM Posted February 10, 2006 at 10:21 PM So, I know we have a topic about singers at the Olympics. So I thought it would be nice to have one about the game itself. So, are you watching? What's your favourite sport?Who are you supporting? I'm not a great fan of winter sports but I'm obsessed with Figure Skating so I'll be watching every second of it! I'm supporting Sasha Cohen, Shen/Zhao, one geram couple I can't spell their name, Delobel/Shoenfelder, Stephan Lambiel and Brian Joubert. I also enjoy curling and hockey. Oh, and the opening cerimony was 15496454 times better than the one in Athens. Paravotti's rendition of Nessun Dorma was DIVINE! tativale Posted February 10, 2006 at 11:51 PM Posted February 10, 2006 at 11:51 PM Nope, I'm not. It's weird since it's so hot here lol lmaoI wish I had sen the Pavarotti's perfomance of Nessun Dorma 'cause I love LOVE that "song". winforlife Posted February 12, 2006 at 06:36 PM Posted February 12, 2006 at 06:36 PM I love watching the ice skaking-pairs and singles. Michelle Kwan(USA) dropped out due to a groin injury. From personal experience, it's very painful and takes time to heal.Have to give her props for pursuing one more shot at the Olympics especially since she is considered old- 25 yrs young Most of the skaters aren't even 20! Love watching down hill skiing too-use to ski quite a bit so it's interesting for me to watch the speed and technique. Go USA Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg

Mozinha Posted February 12, 2006 at 11:36 PM Author Posted February 12, 2006 at 11:36 PM Awwwwwww Michelle.I heard this first thing in the morning and I was sad about it. She has never been a favourite of mine but she is a great atlethe pursuing a dream for so long and it's so sad to see her let go like that. I'm rooting for Sasha Cohen, she is my favourite since SLC Olympics and I hope she holds the pressure and wins! Pairs free tomorrow!!! I'm still dreaming of an all chinese podium. Very unlikely to happen but it can happen. We could have at least 2 chinese couples on the podium, I'm rooting for Shen and Zhao!!!!!!!! I also love the german couple, it's a shame they made such a mistake. Mozinha Posted February 13, 2006 at 10:18 PM Author Posted February 13, 2006 at 10:18 PM OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SHEN AND ZHAO GOT A MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for them!!! I was jumping like crazy on the living room!!!!!!! And Dan Zhang, that girl is though. She is now on my list of the most amazing ladies. That fall was so scary I thought she had her leg broken, poor thing. But she stood up and started it all over and managed to be 2nd place. That was just amazing. That is the spirit and the lesson we must learn: STAND UP AND FIGHT!!!!!!!!!! Bellamy Posted February 13, 2006 at 11:57 PM Posted February 13, 2006 at 11:57 PM I thought Dan was hurted ver badly. She looked so painfully. It's amazing to see her stood up and finished the performance so good. I'm very proud of her. I don't quite like the technically good but no passion performance of the Russian pair. Mozinha Posted February 14, 2006 at 12:23 AM Author Posted February 14, 2006 at 12:23 AM yeah, it's a shame. Looks like Russia will win everything in figure skating. Sucks especially in the ladies event. That is the spirit and the lesson we must learn: STAND UP AND FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!<{POST_SNAPBACK}> 15 minutes ago I watched the pair-glad they won a medal. Their performance was passionate and technically strong. It's amazing despite an achilles tear, sheer perservance pays off! Congrats to the Chinese I was still routing for the US pair- the quadruple(?) throw in their short program made skating history. THey weren't able to repeat that amazing move in their long program-what a shame. The commentators said she has a permanent bruise on her hip from falling while practicing the complicated throw:shocking: On a side note, has anyone watched, Celebrities on Ice ? I think it's incredible how non skaters could learn jumps, throws, death spiral in one month! It was great to see Dorothy Hamill and Tai Babilonia, both Olympic winners for those who aren't familiar with two amazing female skaters from the 70's.
