Leone Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:19 PM Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:19 PM (edited) Hi!Isn't she australian? I know she has like 3 albums in english. What's the story behind her french songs? Did she move to France?? You can clearly hear that she's not french.. She has a funny way of pronouncing "R" or "tu" (you). "Tou" instead of "Ty".. Edited December 22, 2005 at 08:21 PM by Leone Quote
Mozinha Posted December 22, 2005 at 09:48 PM Posted December 22, 2005 at 09:48 PM She has been singing in french for a long while. I guess I've heard songs from her back in 2000. I actually like it very much. It was a smart move, she sold many records in France. Célinefull Posted December 23, 2005 at 05:30 AM Posted December 23, 2005 at 05:30 AM lol, Tina. She is Australian, and she started singing on TV here when she was a little girl. Ages ago, she had a really great English album that had many hits and sold a lot of units here in Australia, she has unfortunantly struggled to reach the same level of fame here again. A few years back, she married a Frenchman and she moved to France (she had a baby this year) so now she lives there. She also started recording music over there and is now quite popular. If you like her, you should buy this album: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000002BG...=music&v=glance It's her best. Quote http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/7108/ziegfieldgirlbanner.jpg

corr_azy Posted December 28, 2005 at 01:44 PM Posted December 28, 2005 at 01:44 PM I feel Tina is a really underrated star. She has a really good voice, it's a pity she hasn't really made the airwaves in most countries. Quote
Célinefull Posted January 4, 2006 at 03:38 AM Posted January 4, 2006 at 03:38 AM She seems to be one of those singers you either love or hate and a lot of people hate her, I am not sure what it is about her that makes her so unlikeable?! rael1983 Posted October 25, 2008 at 02:28 PM Posted October 25, 2008 at 02:28 PM (edited) Besides Celine and Lara Fabian, Tina Arena is also one of my favourite singers. I strongly recommend her music, I think there are few female singers today with her vocal range. Tina is gonna release a new album on November 15th 2008 with songs that she grew up with. She released the first volume, Songs Of Love & Loss, on December last year. And now it's time for the second volume, Songs Of Love & Loss 2. The album will have songs like "Every Breath You Take" (The Police), "Close To You" (The Carpenters), "Call Me" (Blondie), "Nights In White Satin" (The Moody Blues), "Both Sides Now" (Joni Mitchell) and "Your Song" (Elton John). You can have a look at the making of here: The album features incredible orchestral arrangements that complemented with Tina's voice sound absolutely AMAZING! The first single will be a cover of Lulu's "Oh Me, Oh My" that you can listen in full here: http://www.tinaarena.com/index.php?module=discography Just wait until the page loads and it will authomatically start playing. It's really great! Edited October 25, 2008 at 02:30 PM by rael1983 Quote

Ray Posted October 25, 2008 at 03:21 PM Posted October 25, 2008 at 03:21 PM (edited) I loooooooooooooooove Tina!!! Her albums in chronological order: Tiny Tina & Little John (the songs she sang as a child, while she was one of the stars in an Australian music program...) Strong as steel Her official first album. First released by EMI, later re-released by Sony with some different songs. Not such a strong album in my opinion. Maybe that explains why Tina never sings any of those songs live in concert. I always get the feeling she likes to forget about this album... Don't Ask This album is usually called her "first" album. It is her most succesful in Australia anyway. Was released several times. The best version contains 12 songs. It includes the hits: Chains, Show me heaven, Heaven help my heart, Sorrento moon, Wasn't it good, That's the way a woman feels. In Deep 1997 edition: released in Australia containing 12 songs and a hidden track: "Burn" (acoustic). Includes four Australian hits: Burn, If I didn't love you, Now I can dance, I want to know what love is. In Deep 1998 edition: released in Europe containing 14 songs. Including four songs, which are NOT on the Australian edition! Three new songs were released as a single in Europe: I want to spend my lifetime loving you, Whistle down the wind, If I was a river. (Counting the Australian hits as well, this edition includes 7 hits!) In Deep 1999 edition: released in France containing 14 songs. Including her first two French recordings! (Real fans had to buy all three editions to collect ALL the songs!) Both French songs were hits in France. (Real fans will be pleased to know that some of the English tracks were slightly different mixed than on the first two editions.) Souvenirs: Especially released in Australia. Including: filmtracks, live songs, duets, etc. Just me: There are two editions. The Australian edition contains 11 songs. Including the hits: Soulmate #9, Dare you to be happy, Symphony of life. The French edition contains three French bonus tracks! Vous-êtes toujours là: French live album with a few English songs and two new studio-tracks (one English, one French) Greatest Hits: A must have for anyone who hasn't all her albums yet!!! Includes ALL her hits plus two new songs! The dvd release is must have as well!!! Includes almost all her video's! Greatest Hits Live: Also available as a cd/dvd combi release. Containing 15 of her biggest English hits live! Only released in Australia. Un autre univers: Her first full French language album. If you like Céline's French albums, be sure to have a listen to Tina's French work as she works with some of the same songwriters! Songs of Love and Loss: A cover album with real gems of the past. The album was released last year December and was highly succesful in Australia. 7 Vies: Tina's second French language album. It was released in January. Especially the first single is wonderfully beautiful! Songs of Love and Loss Volume 2: Because of the succes of the first cover album, there's gonna be a second volume next month! Can't wait!!! To me Tina is the "Australian Céline Dion" if I have to compare her with anyone. Both great voices, have worked at times with the same songwriters/producers, sing in French and English... rael1983 Posted November 3, 2008 at 03:12 PM Posted November 3, 2008 at 03:12 PM On YouTube a new video has appeared to promote the new album. It is the same "making of" video already seen but now they have edited it without voices and now "Call Me" sounds different, but still very cool. I wonder why they have left "Downtown" when the final tracklist excludes it. Maybe a bonus hidden track? Or maybe a bonus track for digital stores? Soon we'll know. Here's the video:http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=HUe20u-BbqM Quote
