"The Collection"

Columbia/Legacy is releasing a new Céline CD called The Collection (UPC# 88697559672) on September 29th. I don't have many details as of now, but I believe it will be a 3 CD set. Once I get more details I will let ya'll know!

 

There are other artists coming out with this same title on the same day: Aerosmith; Johnny Cash; Miles Davis; John Denver; Céline Dion; Bob Dylan; Earth, Wind & Fire; Hall & Oates; Whitney Houston; Billy Joel; Journey; Willie Nelson; Elvis Presley; Frank Sinatra; Barbra Streisand; James Taylor

I know that's all Legacy does is re-release from their archives...thats what the label is for...but really? They already have a bunch of artists with 'The Essentials' collections. Now you need a "The Collections" collection. Come up with some more creative ideas to re-release, like an album with ACTUAL rare songs, or a best of live songs...sooomething different. This is going to be the same album as My Love with mhwgo, bylm, yaddy ya yayayaaaaaaaaaaa. You know Legacy loooves their old rocker music, anything involving AC/DC, The Clash, etc etc. they'll get a little creative with...but when its with artists that their employees aren't big fans of IE Celine....they'll just re-release the ten same songs with a different title and old photo for the album cover just to bring in more money. Look at their homepage...the clash, ac/dc, johnny cash (not saying this is bad music)..the people working there are a bit biased in their releases

By first glance it looks like legacy is a label for pop/rock moreso rock...but they are in charge of re-releasing re-packaging ALL sony artists, but I can't tell you hoooow many really nice looking Clash albums they've put together (I have one where they released their all of their singles in one box set with each single in a different slip cover and it's very well put together) but for Celine they have AND and TAST released 500 times with pretty much the same stuff...just a soft case instead of a hard one...or a recyclable case or some other crap. Give us a huge box set of Celine's discography with lots of rare (AND I MEAN RARE) photos and inserts and whatever...then I'll be happy. I won't be buying The Collections.

 

I'm a little bitter. It's just like...if you aren't going to put the effort don't even bother with it. It's just embarassing and BORING.

Of course we all want something new, but I rather get something, that nothing at all.. but It would be awesome if they put some effort on it, even if it has somes that have been on her albums a million times, we could get a nicer package, some pictures like they said before, something nice to have on your colletion

I think there is also a French Collection. I am happy they're releasing "new" stuff, but with any artist, I don't get the point in Greatest Hits and Collections. I already have the CDs/songs. Why buy them again? I'm much more interested in new stuff.

just when i thought we had enough of her biggest hits via All the Way, The Collector's Series Vol. 1, Complete Best and My Love: Essential Collection, voila! here comes The Collection with repeat tracks like MHWGO, TPOL, TLYM, BYLM, B&TB, WMHBN, LCMM, TTWII, blah blah blah... this would surely become her 2nd RIAA uncertified album. ugh!
