Has anyone ever heard of Tracey Shield? I just found out about her today while searching for news. Her face on that album looked familiar but I never knew she had her own tribute show called "An Evening with Celine Dion" that's being played in many venues. I wouldn't mind attending her show, :kicking: it's got many great reviews. Anyone been to this show?

Her official site: http://www.celinediontribute.com you could download some clips and pictures of her singing Celine's songs. :msn-wink:

Tracey is off to Las Vegas to see Celine in concert at Caesars Palace. Her front row tickets are booked for Wednesday, 9th November 2005.
:thumbsup2: I wonder if Celine will bring her on stage or at least point her out in the audience like she does to many celebrities attendiing her show.. :w00t: :w00t:

:wow: She's definitely the REAL deal. I just listened to her songs, she really has some Celine flavor in her voice, especially in Immortality :w00t: Videos coming soon, let's see how she performs them which is not easily imitated B) :icon_mrgreen:

Thanks for the site Vic. I love it. She sounds exactly like Céline. I think I love her music. She's someone new that I like. I didn't know that they had a show like this for Céline.

Not to mention, Tracey looks somewhat like Celine too :shocking:

Like Celine and Rene, Tracey is married to her manager, Neil Evans :jawdrop: It'd be an interesting meeting for both couples. :lmao: They do have more in common.

We might kiss when we are alone... When nobody's watching... We might take it home... We might make out... When nobody's there... It's not that we're scared... It's just that it's delicate... We might live like never before... When there's nothing to give... Well how can we ask for more... We might make love in some sacred place... The look on your face is delicate

She does look like Céline. She is wearing a necklace that looks like the heart of the ocean. Remember that necklace that Céline wore at the grammy's when she sang MHWGO? She's just as pretty as Céline. I wonder if her husband Neil looks like Réne. Lol.

That seems really cool

Congrats, Koolan. Your comments are now on Tracey's website, saying that she's getting RAVE reviews on this forum. Ha ha ha!!! :bleh:

Yeah, she has "some" Celine flavour, but really, she's not even close. She's too choppy, to subtle, tries too hard with the accent and throaty qualities Celine has (which is the only thing that makes people think she has any sort of Celine flavour), but sings without any of the power or conviction. I give her credit for trying and more power to her to make it a success, but it sounds like a bad comedian doing some hilarious knock-off. Besides, if she can sing (and she can) she should have her own career, not one shadowing someone who is already her own power. I bet she could make a success out of being herself.

:spaz: never knew my comments would make it there :jump: Thanks for putting it up.  Now, when will your show be in NY?  :bye1:

Hi from thereason - aka Tracey Shield of celinediontribute.com. Thank you so much for the messages both here and on my website. My site has had an extra 150 visitors since the first message arrived on your site.

Usually I get abuse from the die-hard Celine fans who visit this type of website, the feeling seems to be that I have no right impersonating their Celine. The forum regarding my show has received some nice comments. The truth is when I perform the show; it is done with dedication it's not a comedy show I try to capture all that Celine stands for. I wish I could sing as effortlessly as Celine does, but I do perform the show in the exact cover key as Celine and the shows I perform sell-out almost all of the time. The most popular venues I perform are restaurants and hotels around the London area. The usual evening is a sit down meal and show. The audience pay around £30-£50 and have a three course meal followed by my show. The crowd is usually made up of around 35% Celine fans, 35% came along with a Celine fan, 20% just come to see some live entertainment and the rest are just there for the food. Once they hear the fantastic songs of Celine Dion they realise that Celine has sang more than just the theme tune to Titanic!! I receive lots of e-mails every month saying until I watched you perform I didn't know how much I love the music of Celine Dion, I went to the music store today and got my hands on as many Celine CD's as I could find.

Yes it's true I make a good living from performing an act dedicated to Celine Dion, my new costumes are similar to the one's worn in the Las Vegas show. I talk in a French-Canadian accent during the show, although sometimes it sounds more like Irish (lol). I don't lip-sync every show is performed live. The show is available to anyone especially if they don't have the time or the money to see the real Celine in Las Vegas. People also come and see the show if they have booked in advance to see the Las Vegas show. They come and see my show as a small warm-up to what to expect in Las Vegas. Also the great thing is my the show has raised thousands of pounds for good causes with the charity show we perform once a month. So long live Celine.

I would love to meet her, do you have any advice on how to achieve this. Although the show and myself are reasonably well known on the entertainment scene in the UK, I doubt Celine or the people around her are aware of what I do. If she did discover me, I hope she would be flattered. To meet her would be a dream come true for me like any Celine Fan. I am off to see the Las Vegas show or the first time at the end of this year. I am so looking forward to it.

There are no plans at the moment to perform in New York although we do have an agent interested in promoting the show in the States next year.

Thanks again

Love Traceyx

May I ask you a question, Tracey? I've always wondered about impersonators, wondering why they impersonate people in the first place. You obviously have a talent for singing, and many impersonators do, so what made you choose to be Celine Dion when you could have a successful career of your own? What makes an impersonator want to ride/shadow the career of someone already established when they could be themselves and be loved for themselves? I can see a lot of admiration and love for the original singer is a key component, but what makes an impersonator take it to that next level? Simply loving a singer, whether it be Celine or Elvis or Elton, can't smply be enough. Can you shed some light on that for me?

I thought she will meet Céline just because you cannot book tickets for November 2005, yet. And so I thought she got a personal invitation for that specific date. :flowers:

Hello Tracey here - celinediontribute.com.

Regarding the tickets for Celine in Las Vegas. We booked a package with Virgin Atlantic; the package includes flights accommodation and tickets to the show. The tickets are confirmed. The conditions of the booking are you must stay at Caesars Palace to have the pre-release tickets. And tickets are paid for in advance.

And why do I perform a Celine Dion tribute and don’t try and make it myself. The truth is it has been my life’s ambition to be a singing superstar. I’ve wanted to be famous since I was a little girl, I starting singing at 10 years old. It has just never happened for me, never met the right people, and never been in the right place at the right time as they say. I have been to every audition available… Pop Idol, Fame Academy, X-Factor. But not just these reality shows, I have auditioned, sent off tapes, CD’s etc. to record producers/companies for years but nothing. I get the same thing every time; the researchers say you sound like Celine Dion…..next!! You’d think that would be a blessing. Actually I don’t sound that much like Celine when I sing in my own voice but I always get told I’m not what they’re looking for. Also for a record deal I am classed as being to old at 32! Basically, the show that I perform was started when I appeared as Celine on a TV programme back in the winter of 2000. The show called “Stars In Their Eyes” is a contest that looks for ordinary people who sound and look like a star. I had been a fan of Celine since she appeared on Eurovision and had followed her career ever since. I loved the voice and could mimic it. I had an audition and got on the show. I later won my show as Celine Dion, other acts on the show included, Ricky Martin (Living La Vida Loca), Gerry Rafferty (Baker Street) Dionne Warwick (Walk On By) & Carly Simon (You’re So Vain). I beat them all!!!!! I sang “All Coming Back To Me Now”. After this, agents approached me and managers who said that the tribute market was huge and that I could make a good living as a tribute artiste to Celine Dion. No one else was performing as Celine. One of the managers was Neil Evans who strangely I married; I didn’t marry him to be even more like Celine Dion honest!! Before the show was performing in all sorts of venues as myself. Some nice venues and some really bad I earned around $200 a show and had to sing all evening, Neil got me work in some great venues both here in the UK and abroad earning around five time as much. The money was not important, the travel and experience is amazing. I finally got to travel the world singing. I spent so much time on trying to make my show dedicated to Celine the best around. Being a star myself hasn’t happened yet, I wish it would, but on the whole I am happy with the way things have turned out so far. We keep knocking on the doors of fame and one day there will be someone in. What ever happens I will always be very thankful to Celine. I love what I do and love the songs that I sing and all Celine fans know there is some great songs not just that “Boat Song” I sing that song five times a week, if I didn’t sing it I would have complaints. There is a chance for me to make it as myself but I think that would be America not the UK. Here they are only into teen pop or reality TV stars. I have been working with a guy Dale Effren (who lives in Los Angeles) on his original material, so you never know one day. When I sing Celine and it’s a great venue and the crowd is full of Celine fans, she takes me over, I become her for a little while, and it is a wonderful feeling. Celine is unique there is no one like her I know that she can sing anyone off the stage (Did you see the Divas concert) I know I am not Celine but I can sing like her and she is so beautifully animated that it is easy for me to mimic her in everyway. While performing in Malaysia they thought I was Celine and the venue had to explain after the show that I was not Celine just an actress. The crowd lined up for 4 hours to get an autograph. Moments like this make it all worthwhile.

Apart from having a similar voice and marrying my manager I don’t have a lot more in common with Celine. I don’t have 13 siblings, I don’t play golf and I had to pay for my Chrysler. My next mission is to meet Celine with your help we could make this happen. Somebody out there must know how I can meet her. Lets start a campaign. I will keep you updated. Take care. Traceyx
