World Tour Video: Music

“I Drove All Night” has already been chosen for the intro.

 

Please vote!! And leave any extra comments or other suggestions regarding the music. I’m curious to know if you’d rather we use all Céline songs (since the majority of the suggestions were songs of hers) or if we should include songs by other artists as well.

 

If you know of any other songs by French artists that might work - please suggest them here!

I think she would enjoy the video more.

I think that the majority of songs used should be not Celine's HOWEVER, taking chances and my love are two songs that seem like that hafta be used somewhere in it! The video is of her tour.. Maybe atleast one full song of mixed Celine snippits.. =)

Personally, I like Chicago "You're the Inspiration" and David Cook "Time of My Life". Also, "My Love" and "Taking Chances" would be great to use. The name of the tour is Taking Chances, and there are a lot of photos of fans meeting Céline, so "My Love" would fit. "How did you know I'd take the time for you..."

I agree on what Jane said.. so maybe half and half would be the way to go in my opinion as well.

 

As for the songs.. I was unable to cast my vote as I had previously viewed the results and now it won't let me vote anymore. However, I also like the songs Ashley mentioned best suited for this video.

 

"Taking Chances" and "My Love" are new songs, so I would rather have those songs on this World Tour Video than any of her previous ones such as "Because You Loved Me", "To Love You More", albeit great songs as well. They have just been played so much already.

 

As for the other artists' songs I also like David Cook's "Time of My Life" as well as Chicago's "You're the Inspiration". Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" is without a doubt a magnificent song, but it was used in the birthday video, so maybe it would be better to use some other songs this time...

I can't believe the response for My Love for this video, I don't think it's very fitting at all in my opinion , hopefully it is something more upbeat and descriptive of what the tour was to US I think sometimes we can misinterpret My Love, Can't Fight The Feeling is a great song to incorporate its fresh and new and hasn't been used before and we are "hooked on the Celine feeling" Edited January 3, 2009 at 09:01 AM by Denelle

Ok, so we're a bit divided on whether or not to use all Céline songs... And I think "My Love" and "Taking Chances" are definite favorites!

 

And I also should have asked, but didn't think of until last night. What do we think about using short clips (from bootlegs obviously) of Céline saying "Is that alright, [city]?!" at the beginning. It's a neat idea, but it all depends on if we want to use bootleg recordings...

The decision is all of yours... but I really like David Cook "Time of My Life". Another fan suggested it, and I hadn't really paid much attention to the song until now. I really think I can make this song work. It works for both sides, imo, for them and for us.

 

Which brings me to my next advice - remember this video is for them and not for us. Of course, Céline songs make us happy, but I think they might appreciate a little variety. Also, I'm surprised more of you didn't vote for "Dans Un Autre Monde", I thought that would fit pretty well - and I think we need at least one French song. "Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore" is the highest rated so far.

 

Right now we're at all Céline songs: My Love (live), Taking Chances, Can’t Fight The Feelin’, A World To Believe In, & Because You Loved Me.

Well i still don't know about Celine or non-Celine songs but if we use non-Celine at least we can use songs from singers she like: whitney houston for example, what about "you light up my life", all those artists that she always mentions on interviews she grew up listening to like Janis Joplin and Carole King. I think that would make more sense and would be more interesting for her, of course IDAN at the beginning is a MUST!

"Dans Un Autre Monde" is a great song but I'm not sure about the lyrics..same thing with "The Show Must Go On" ?!?!

"My Love" - I love this song but it's too sad song for the video

"Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas" - beautiful song and lyrics are great. "I won't forget you. No, never..." But it's too slow...

 

The song should be uptempo, fun and energetic.

If the video is for Celine I'd love use non-celine song(s)...or maybe we could make a fun remix of her songs. That would be unique, something created by us...idk.
