At the moment:- If I Could / "A New Day..."- All By Myself / "Live In Memphis"- A New Day Has Come / "A New Day..."- Le Blues Du BusinessMan / "L'olympia" What's yours? LVCeline Posted June 2, 2008 at 06:05 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 06:05 PM The following are songs off the top of my head that I think are as good, and some even better than the studio version: Le Blues for sure from Live a Paris and Olympia! I don't like (I should say it pales in comparison to live) the studio version of the song. Lately I'm thinking ESNRQ is as good as the studio version, she sings it AMAZINGLY! Alone is also about as good if not better at certain parts as it is live. The live arrangement is incredible! I LOVE the heavy violins and her dramatic arm movements at the end! My Love is getting that way as well, though I love the studio version. Je Sais Pas is as good live to me. I Drove All Night The Power of the Dream - I just came across a performance of that song I haven't seen before and it gave me chills at the end! I had to keep watching that part over and over, it is incredible! S'il Suffisait D'aimer is heavenly live - I think it sounds too sterile in the studio Immortality is better live to me Lets Talk About Love as well I Hate You Then I Love You - the one live performance of this song is much better than the studio Quote

Thomas Posted June 2, 2008 at 06:30 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 06:30 PM In terms of being "as good as" the CD, I think her performance of ATW on Leno was surely as techically close as you can get. But a lot of the performances mentioned above are better than the album version and take on a completely new life when performed infront of an audience, such as Blues and SSD. Quote
tonybower Posted June 2, 2008 at 07:16 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 07:16 PM (edited) Le blues du businessman - for me Celine's live interpretations of this song, first at the Olympia and then at the Zenith, represent her finest live performances. This is my favourie song but I never listen to the recorded version. Only the two Paris performances will do for me! The Power Of Love - at the David Foster concert in Japan. Simply mind-blowing! After hearing this for the first time, life seemed to make sense again The Prayer - with Josh Groban at World Children's Day. This performance gave me shivers! Perfection. Think Twice - A 100% live performance from Top Of The Pops which still blows my mind. Prierre Painne - from Live a Paris; so much soul and energy! Si Dieu Existe - never heard the recorded version, but this live performance with Claude Dubois at the Ste Justine concert was incredible! Je sais pas and Pour que tu m'aimes encore - Au Coeur Du Stade simply wonderful performance! Quand on n'a que l'amour - live with Mauranne at Enfoires. And I mustn't forget I Can't Help Falling In Love With You at The Colour Of My Love concert. Awe-inspiring! I actually have a Celine: Live playlist on my iPod which includes all of Celine's finest 100% live moments. Alex_Incognito Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:50 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 08:50 PM The World's Children Day concert was SPECTACULAR! But why in the world did she lip "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)"? It would have been nice to have a fully-live version of that song. Her performance of "My Heart Will Go On" was stellar. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Totally agree, that's her BEST album vocally I have Des Mots Qui Sonnent, Je Danse Dans Ma Tête, L'amour existe encore, Le Blues du businessman, TPOL and LCMM. Well, that whole album beats the studio version of each song And TPOL live @ Dimanche Martin (1994). That was perfect Video youtube Edited June 2, 2008 at 09:25 PM by Gonzalillo Quote "Hush, now... Teodora Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:37 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:37 PM (edited) But a lot of the performances mentioned above are better than the album version and take on a completely new life when performed infront of an audience, such as Blues and SSD.I just wanted to say that. She's maybe the only singer out there that can actually sing better live than she does in the studio! She's just mindblowing that way! I know "I Surrender" totally amazed me when I heard her singing it live in AND, and I didn't even like the album version that much. Not to mention "River Deep Mountain High" and... well, everything you have named before me. I LOOOOVED "Je sais pas" in Paris, not to long ago. That yell she does just before the guitar solo, everything about it. It's a new feel and she sings the hell out of it. Need I say "My Love"?! "Love Can Move Mountains" is always better live, if not better sung all the time, for sure it's a better feel. I'm gonna stop naming them, before I name them all. But one thing is for sure: when Celine is in good voice shape when performing live, she actually sings them better than on the album, both with better vocals and more emotional. And I don't think she ever did a studio version of "Quand on n'a que l'amour" but if she ever does, it can't be better than on "Live a Paris". There's more than perfection right there! Black Kitten Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:59 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 10:59 PM prolly the whole Live a Paris album. she didn't change a single note in the entire live performance (except for TPOL, which sounds 95% identical to the Al'Olympia album). this is weird, but her live performance of songs from D'eux are way better than the studio version.
