I found out just now that a new date has been added to the Taking Chances World Tour! Celine will appear at the following new date:

 

Sat, 01/10/09

08:00 PM New Orleans Arena

New Orleans, LA Celine Dion

This was on Ticketmasters website, does this mean no one can buy tickets for that show unless you live in that city?? That's rediculous...

(venue name) is located in (city, state/province). Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of (geo-limited states/provinces or selected area). Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside (geo-limited states/provinces or selected area) will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

That is so stupid. I don't think that all residents of New Orleans who are rebuilding or whatever want to spend up to $1000 dollars on a ticket. I think it is bad decision to go to LA in the first place, since it is one of the more empowerished states in the US. ALso, discriminating by billing zip code? I am sure scalpers will figure that one out by providing a false address and opening a new card.

It may be a reduced fee or free concert for the residents.. that's the only reason I see for the restriction.. And there is no reason why she shouldn't go to LA, it's ignorant to say that she shouldn't just because the state is poor. I'm sure there are people there who want to see her.

The date is Not gone! I should know because I just bought two tickets today. I am SO EXCITED!!

It's on the TicketMaster website for January 10, 2009 at the New Orleans Arena. The Arena is a wonderful venue for a concert, too. Not a bad seat in the house. The prices are not that outrageous. I paid about $158.00 (plus all of TicketMaster's fees, of course) per ticket. I got two seats on Row 11 on the floor. I joined TeamCeline to be able to purchase the tickets early and with a discount. They don't go on sale to the general public until May 12. The ticket sales are not restricted to people in New Orleans. The sales are restricted to people in the region - Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.

 

Anyone else planning on attending this one? My husband has actually agreed to go with me. He is not much of a Celine fan, though he thinks she is an incredible singer, but his tastes run more toward Allman Brothers and Pink Floyd (what can I say?). But he knows how much I love her and he did listen to the Taking Chances CD all the way through and then asked me to play it again right after. He was even singing along with some of the songs. So he may be converted yet.

 

I can't wait. This is going to be soooooo great!!!!!! I haven't been this excited about a concert since I saw the Beatles in 1964 at City Park in New Orleans. (Their limo ran over my foot).

I have two tickets to see Celine this Saturday at the New Orleans Arena, which is a wonderful venue. I have tickets on the floor (Floor B, Row 11). My husband was planning on going with me, but it looks like he won't be able to make it. I have checked with several friends here, but they either don't want to go (are they crazy?) or can't go. I asked someone else today if she is interested in going to the concert and she said she was, but she would have to check with her husband to see if he has plans for them this weekend. If she can't go, I may be left holding a great ticket and I would hate for it to go to waste. :cry:

 

If anyone lives in the area and would like to go to the concert and would be willing to take the other ticket, it's $175.00. I have to pick them up at the Will Call window on Saturday, so I would like to know if someone wants the ticket before I go pick them up. I don't want to try to sell them to a perfect stranger, though if they're a Celine fan, I guess that wouldn't be too bad.

 

Is anybody interested? If so, please let me know soon.

 

Also, are there any fans in the area who already have tickets to this concert? If so, would you like to meet up beforehand? I would love to meet some of the people from the forum. I think that would be a kick.

 

BTW, Happy New Year, everyone! I can't think of a better way to start the New Year than going to a Celine concert. This is one of the most thrilling moments of my life! :kicking:

I'll give it my best shot. I'm so excited!!! I just wish I could find someone who could take the extra ticket I have. I would hate for it to go to waste. It's a great ticket, too. But I'm going, come hell or high water. I can't wait!!!!

LOL, I was just looking at maps to figure out if she was indeed heading to her new home. It does seem like it so awesome for them. I hope they find this home comfortable and inviting. I wonder if we fans will get an invite to the house-warming party. :sofunny:

 

Ok, so she's up, up, and away and flying over some water as we type. So I hope this show was special and that we'll be hearing from folks soon.

I thought it was pretty weird she doesnt visit many of the places she goes to sing. She just goes to do the concert and leaves. I dont know about over seas but if i were her I would want to visit especially if shes got breaks in between shows but Im sure she wants to get back to RC and do the family thing. not only that, i thought that this tour would give her the oppertunity to see the world and cities that she's in...

but i have the idea she didn't see anything of it lol...

 

only in germany and south africa we have some pics of celine out and about :D

or they do it so secretly that when the dvd or book comes out we learn about it
