winforlife Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:08 PM Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:08 PM I just saw the movie, Black Book-interesting flick. The coming attractions showed La Vie en Rose out in theaters June 8th in the US-looks like a good movie! Has anyone seen it in Europe or saw it at the IFC flim festival in NYC? If so, any comments? Here's a clip of the movie: http://www.edithpiafmovie.com/ Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
LaFeeRailleuse Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:13 PM Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:13 PM I think there's already a topic about that! Here it was called LA MÔME!I saw it, and loved it! It's really amazing! Marion Cotillard is an AMAZING actress. When I went out of the movie theatre after watching this film I felt weird, because the atmosphere is so heavy! It's really moving!Edith Piaf had an extraodinary life. That was really interesting to see it.Especially because of her passionate love story with the boxer Marcel Cerdan. Quote
winforlife Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:54 PM Author Posted May 12, 2007 at 06:54 PM I did a search and nothing came back. Perhaps it was mentioned in a topic about Céline La Mome is an interesting title for the movie! I grew up listening to Edith Piaf and saw the play, Piaf on Broadway in the 80's. Yes, Marion Cotillard got rave reviews for her performance. Piaf was so talented, but like Judy Garland and other great singers had a tragic ending. I can't wait to see the movie! Thanks for the response Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
stevethefan Posted August 1, 2007 at 03:35 AM Posted August 1, 2007 at 03:35 AM I recently saw this new French movie called "La Vie En Rose" that depicts the life of the famous French singerEdith Piaf. I thought this was a great movie, although a little depressing.I forgot the name of the actress who played the role but she was great. She definitely deserves one of those gold Hollywood movie statue things for this portrayal. If you can't see it in the theater, I'm sure it will be on DVD soon. Quote
Erin Posted August 2, 2007 at 03:26 AM Posted August 2, 2007 at 03:26 AM I had been dying to see this movie and finally it opened at one theater in vegas last week! i loved it As soon as 'non, je ne regrette rien' started playing at the end, though... Quote facebook / twitter

Hopefully Marion Cotillard will win an award of her portrayal of Piaf. Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg

VintageCeline Posted July 31, 2008 at 12:23 AM Posted July 31, 2008 at 12:23 AM I agree, I might even put it on before I go to bed in a mo...! I didn'nt know who Edith Piaf was before watching it, But now I am fascinated everytime I watch the film. There a some interviews with Piaf herself on youtube, and some clips of her singing. Now that I've seen the film, and a tiny insight into her life, you kinda of see how troubled she was during the performances. Marion Cotillard did an amazing job in the film, In the extra parts of the DVD you see the transfomation from Cotillard to Piaf, It looked like such hard work, but it definatly paid off in the end. I would probably say this is by far of of my favourite films, Edith Piaf was mighty talented! x Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/94198518f8a09aef1d336d6fde8fc8b3/tumblr_mkdcezs36X1r7lwiso1_400.jpg
