I don't mean to be rude but this is so not appropriate. I mean, it's not really nice to come here and call people names and leave this kind of rumours. If you have a problem with someone, why don't you tall to this person straight in the face.

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. No, I agree with all of you when you say that it's not like her 'old' voice, but at the same time, I love that about it. The beginning was so intimate with the a capella, and became so raw when the music began...and I enjoy that her voice isn't what it once was back then (on this particular song). Who wants a bunch of versions of this song, sung in the same way, with the same voice and the same riffs and the same tones? Nah, this performance was perhaps not the best thing we've ever heard, but it was really impressive all the same, and will give me something to listen to when I want to hear this song, but not in that perfect "peppy" voice of yesteryears. I don't know...I am split between the fact that I miss her old singing in many ways (when she's in the studio especially), but I enjoy the humanity of her current singing. Anyway, good for her and thanks for the mp3s folks!!

 

Aside from that, it was great to hear her finally sing something in Vegas other than the same old bloomin' songs. That's worth it for me!!

I think you should think twice before saying bad things - things that arent true - about a friend of mine, - not only mine - but from many people here as Vic etc. And you don't have any proof about it.

I think everyone here is being polite enough to not telling you what you deserve to hear.

Who's pretending? Your boyfriend who only approached me at the box office to ask where Ramona was? That makes sense. But for the rest of us, we're friends and will remain friends after Celine leaves Las Vegas. It's been an amazing 5 years getting to meet Celine fans from all over the world and form life-long friendships! Heck, my roommate is my roommate now b/c we met as Celine fans at the show! This is not my business but the bragging thing doesn't only gets on your nerves, Bellamy, it gets me every time, from anyone at all. I lose all the respect for those who brag every.single.time. For godness sake, going to a Celine show is nothing to brag about, not this way. Millions of people have been there. Going to a Celine show doesn't make you that special. Sitting on the front row doesn't make you a better fan. Going to a show 32947390734 doesn't mean you are a better Celine fan. It means you are lucky enough to have the means to do it. Good for you. Now STFU about it.

 

I've been there twice. Does it makes me better or more special than those who haven't been at all? I sat 3rd row. Does it make me better than those who sit far away? Celine waved at me from her car. Does it make me better than anyone at all and worse than those who actually got to meet her? NO. I'm just another fan who loves her just as much as the next one registered here. And I made because I was lucky enough to make it.

 

I wish people would stop making such a big deal out of this. These girls were on TV, then good for them, they looked awesome. That's it, the end. The reason behind all this must be Celine. I always though people went to her show to see her, not to brag about and to believe the are special because of it.

But last night's performance showed us all that she still can sing, can still hit the high notes, and can definitely "come back" from a performance that was less than extraordinary. She blew the Oscar performance away, she even blew the 2002 performance away, so how is it that some people think that she sounded weak? If you want to see a weak performance, look up some of the performances around 2003 (blonde hair). Some appearances from that era for some reason were weak, look at those then look at last night's again, you'll see what weak really means. I guess no matter what Celine does, there will always be those who think she could have done better.

I really enjoyed Celine's performance and I think the audience did too. It's good promotion as well, gets

her name out there even more and puts it in people's minds for the new cd.

 

I think she sounded great and did a wonderful job with the song, Elvis would've enjoyed it!! I just wish that song was added to the show for the rest of the year. I wonder how many shows she did this song in? A woman I work with that went to the show in early September was there the night David Foster was there and she also said Celine did this Elvis song as well.

Hey thanks for the response! Which Oprah 2002 performances do you mean? She sang ANDHC as good as the album so that one wasn't weak, are you talking about something different? Her 2003 performances on the Today show and Regis and Kelly as well as VH1 Divas (HYEBIL) were very weak, I remember thinking that Vegas had ruined her already and that would be it for her, am I GLAD that I was wrong!!!!

Maybe she was referring to the medley? I remember ANDHC and At Last being amazing on Oprah

 

Hey she's human she can have her bad days. I'm sure we have days when our voice isn't up to par for just talking much less singing. I can't believe some expect her to sound the way she did 14 years ago. Is anyone on here looking or able to do the things the could do 14 years ago? C'mon folks! Think about every single song she has ever sang in studio and performed since that year, and don't forget FOUR years of nonstop singing in Vegas, it is impossible that all of that strain wouldn't make her sound a bit different now. Cut her some slack, for all that she's done, the fact that she can still change her voice and hit all of those notes after all of this time should be cause for huge applause and accalades for her, not criticism!
