I've just came back from Vegas and actually I got some bad news about bootlegs I promised to make. No matter what I wrapped my recorder in, it's almost impossible to hear anything. I gonna work on the last bootleg and try to do something with the file so that it shouldn't sound so terrible, but first of all I have a story to tell... It happened a bit less that 24 hors ago but I'm still in shock, I'm walking with a crazy smile on my face and actually turning to a psycho.

I attended 4 shows in a row - nov 2,3,4 and 5 and I gonna tell you what happened on nov5. At 4 o'clock I was sitting on the steps near the collosseum doors and relaxing. I must tell that when I'm at Caesars Palace I always look around approx. each 15 seconds because if something interesting happens I don't want to miss it. Well, like I said, at one moment I turned my head an saw the doors opening and three people left the collesseum: security guy, a lady and... Rene-Charles! I couldn't move and breathe for several seconds, while they were going down the steps, then, when they went to the casino I followed them hiding behind the slot mashines, looking at Rene-Chares' back, pretending as if I was just strolling about the casino. At one moment, when I decided to move from one row of slot machines to the other in order to get a better view the security guy slowed down coz Rene-Charles stopped between two slot machines. I couldn't stop and trying to pretend that nothing was going on appeared to be 3 meters away from him. The security was turned his back to me and the lady looked straight at Rene-Charles. Suddenly he turned his face to me, turned his head and looked at one of the near-by slot machines with amazement. Then he looked right into my face and it lasted for only couple of seconds, then the machine on the other side started to produce some noise and attracted him, so he turned towards it and smiled. I passed by and saw the lady taking his hand and walking with him after the security. I decided not to follow them anymore because first of all it was enough, second - I could barely walk coz my legs were shaking, third - they went into a narrow straight corridor and my following them would become really noticeable and inappropriate in general...

But it's not the only time I saw Rene-Charles that day. I was in orch5, row AA, seat 507, which is the last one in the row and is the closest one to the stage. When the show ended I wanted to wait til Celine disappears from stage and to my great astonishment people started to leave while Celine was still on stage. It took me couple of seconds to understand that actually Celine was not on stage, she was hidden from everyone's eye by the curtain but from my place I could sill see everything that was going on there. She sat on a chair or something and a guy covered her shoulders with a towel. In a second Michel appeared from around the corner and Rene-Charles was with him. I was standing with my eyes wide-open, Celine was hugging Rene-Charles, kissing him, caressing his hair and talking to him. I know that I was not supposed to see that, that I hade to leave but I couldn't. Suddenly they swithches several lights on stage an it turned rather dark in that corner. In a moment Celine turned her face towars me and I waved my hand to her, just automatically an very slowly. And you know what? Celine cuddled Rene-Charles and waved back together with Michel, who probably recognized me coz I talked to him twice the previous days. Then the lights got turned off completely an I just saw them disappearing arond the corner. I looked around and saw people leaving, but there were no one around me! I was standing there like an idiot with my bag in my hands and stupid look on my face. It was the first time I waved Celine because the other times I was too shy to try attracting her attention, but if you could only know how touched I was..... My God, I'm walking around the house giggling, singing What a Wonderful World, I haven't slept for more than 30 hours and I even can't fall asleep... I know I must eat something but I don't want to!!!!!!! Pfffff.....

I gonna transfer the bootleg into mp3 and upload it somewhere BUT you've never heared the worse quality, I'm sure...

I know it's a bit crazy, but I was wondering if anybody had all or some of the song lists for A New Day... since it started in 2003?

I used to check the celindion.com website regularly to look for changes to the songs and running order. I always meant to get copies but didn't.

I don't think there were many changes (probably 4 or 5) and only a few songs were added or taken away over the years but if anybody has copies of the songlists it would be great if they could share them :)

My boyfriend (Ever/CertPharmT15) and I had been planning a nice long vacation in California to visit with my family whom I hadn't seen in over 9 months, and we thought it would be fun if we made a pit stop in Vegas while on the west coast.

 

On Friday, May 25, my mom, her husband, Ever and I piled into the car and headed off on our 3 1/2 hour drive to "sin city". We planned on arriving sometime between 2 and 3pm, checking into the hotel, getting lunch, and heading to the Colosseum. As far as I was aware we didn't have any tickets for the show and the plan was to wait in the stand by line and get whatever was available. At 6:00pm Ever and I were dressed in our "Celine wear" (I wore a white suit and he wore a matching white dress shirt and slacks) and approaching the dreaded stand by line. There was about 15 people ahead of us in line so my hopes for getting anything in the front were fading fast. Around 7:00pm, my mom and her husband showed up saying they had decided to see if they could get tickets too. At 8:00pm, it was finally our turn at the ticket counter. My mom and her husband were able to get tickets in 1mezz 4 row B, which they were extremely excited about. Then when I asked what the closest tickets available were a woman with a walkie talkie and clipboard walked up and said she had just released 2 Orch 4 row AA tickets. Ever immediately handed over his credit card. I was so excited to have front row again, I ran over to my mom and told her the good news. While I was talking to my mom and her husband I noticed that Ever was talking to someone we knew who worked at the box office, but I figured he was just saying a quick hello.

 

Next we headed into the Colosseum, gave a quick hug to my mom, and went to our seats. Shortly after we sat down, that all too familiar voice "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to A New Day..." just after, the camera swiveled a little and began to zoom in on Ever and I. I gave it a little wave figuring it would would move on but it didn't. Suddenly Ever stood up next to me, reached for my hand and asked me to stand up with him. My heart began to pound! As I stood the lights in the Colosseum dimmed and 2 spot lights focused in on us. Ever bent down onto one knee still holding my hand. It was then that the Colosseum exploded, all I could hear was the screams and cheers of the crowd. I glanced to my right and saw that we were still on screen. Next Ever reached in his pocket, pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. I immediately said YES and pulled him to his feet. We hugged for a bit then turned and waived to the audience then to the camera and sat down. The camera man gave us a thumbs up then began pulling out as the music began.

 

As for the actual show, IT WAS AMAZING! Celine was full of energy and playful as always. I really enjoyed the changes and the new costumes.

 

The one piece that really impressed me was River Deep Mountain High. I have never liked the song so I figured the performance would forgettable on my list. Boy was I wrong! It was amazing...probably my new favorite of the show. Celine was smoking hot and the dancers were phenomenal.

 

At the end Celine gave the rose to the couple next to us, they had just gotten married before the show and they were really excited that Celine had known.

 

After the show ended, we had so many people come down to us and congratulate us, it was so nice. As we were walking towards the lobby, Patrick Angelil approached us, gave us both a hug and congratulated us as well. We also ran into Michael, who was super sweet as usual and we told him how Ever and I had met because of Celine so it made sense for him to propose at the show. The rest of the night, everywhere we went we heard "oh those are the ones who got engaged". It was really cool, I felt like a star.

 

The next day, we stopped by the Colosseum to say another thank you to those who made the proposal possible and we ran into Dion (one of the dancers). He was walking up behind us and remembered us from the night before. He said congrats and told us that Celine and the dancers had been warming up backstage when he saw us on screen. He said he yelled for everyone and they all ran over to watch. It really made me feel special.

 

The rest of the day and the next were spent just hanging out, casino hopping and shopping. It was a nice change from my regular hectic Vegas trips.

After watching the DVD for the 10384738th time I noticed that it was actually filmed on a few nights. I noticed because her make up and her hair is different So I'm guessing it was filmed over two or three nights which had me wondering how did they make her voice match with the image. I'm aware that she uses playback for a few songs but did she use a playback for all the songs for the dvd filming ? Please light me in! Thanks !

Just wondering what everybody thought of the DVD extras ... what your favorites were.

 

For me, I much preferred the home scenes with little RC, watching Celine & Rene interact with their son before they left for the concert ... and the part where they were going to tuck him in when they got home.

 

What I found hilarious :sofunny: was in the bloopers section, where Rene and Celine are at the after concert party and Celine asks Rene to open up so that she can put part of a Jell-O cube in his mouth, while she finishes the one she gave him. He indulges her :wub: and stands there for a moment and says, "It's Jell-O!" like he's wondering what the big deal is. Then another moment later, his eyes pop :w00t: and he leans against the wall. You all know about the DVD being taped the 17th through the 21st of January 2007......

 

Well, you know she is going to need an awesome audience to make the DVD even more magical. She plays off of the energy that the audience gives her.

 

 

 

When the Convention team and I were pressing for a January date, this is why (The DVD taping). Recently we have declined holding the convention in January and will be holding it at the end of the year 2007, as close to the last show as permitted.

 

However, because it is such a big deal and because so many people are anticipating the DVD, I wanted to know:

 

 

How many of you could and would like to meet up in Vegas and purchase tickets to the shows between the 17th and 21st of January?

 

Of course this would not be affiliated with the convention at all but it would be a really great thing to go. We go, be a great audience, be a part of the experience, be a part of the DVD we are all looking forward to owning, and as a bonus, we get to meet each other.

 

Let me know what you think. I just think it would be great. I'm aiming for a group of 250 fans. Anything more is spectacular and anything less is a great shot! Lat's make this DVD!!!!! :clap:

Hello everyone,

 

After having driven twelve hours today, making it in time for an afternoon class in San Francisco, and driving another one and a half hours - I'm FINALLY... HOME!

 

What a thrill it was to reunite with many of my dear Celine friends and making new ones, as well. The six days I've spent in the "City of Lights" (and a few hours in the "City of Angels") were AMAZING. Being there to experience with Celine the last two shows of her Vegas extravaganza was truly emotional.

 

I've brought back with me hundreds of photographs and videoclips. I'm sure some of you have viewed the vlogs of the first day of my journey, as well. I have arrived home to major business deadlines and university finals, so my current time is limited. However, I will do my best to put up my journal entries and photographs of the many activities ASAP - little by little!

On The Road: Boxscore Includes Dion's Vegas Gig [Link]

To paraphrase Bob Dylan, Billboard has changed its way of thinkin' regarding Celine Dion's perennially sold-out performances at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, the one-of-a-kind venue built to showcase the songstress during a three-year run.

Until now, we have viewed Dion's Vegas engagement as an event rather than a tour, so we did not run it in our weekly Boxscore chart. From now on, though, Dion's numbers from the Colosseum will be featured in Boxscore.

In short, because the show is ticketed, held at a venue and promoted like a concert, it must be a concert. That will no doubt please promoter Concert West, where co-president John Meglen has long maintained that the only difference between Dion's Vegas engagement and a regular concert is that the people travel instead of the artist.

Whichever way one looks at it, Dion is destined to be one of the top attractions of the year. From March 25 through Aug. 24, she grossed almost $44.4 million from 80 sellouts that drew 327,088 fans.

Can Canadian crooner Céline Dion bring the crowds back to Park Place's Roman-themed Caesars Palace?

Sandwiched on the strip between two Steve Wynn-built casinos, the Mirage and Bellagio, Caesars Palace somehow lacks the grandiose aura it deserves for having singlehandedly invented the high-roller market in Las Vegas when it opened 36 years ago.

 

Now the flagship property of $4.6 billion (2002 revenues) Park Place Entertainment (nyse: PPE - news - people ), Caesars has long since lost the cachet it once held, despite at least $716 million invested in the property since 1996 under three different owners, and a racy rep as the only place where women can tan topless. But even though Park Place's middlebrow Flamingo, just across the Strip, produces 12% more operating income on 36% less revenue, Caesars is the most prestigious gambling brand in Park Place's portfolio and can weigh heavily on overall results of the company.

 

Which has been on a cold streak recently. Although 2002's net income increased 10% to 53 cents per share, charges resulted in a whopping $821 million loss. The stock is down 47% from its $13 high last April. Not helping the company's image on Wall Street was the departure last fall of the chief executive, with the chief counsel close on his heels.

 

The new boss, Wallace Barr, is expecting a revival with the help of Céline Dion, the Canadian diva best known for the syrupy "My Heart Will Go On" from the soundtrack of Titanic. Beginning in March Dion will anchor Caesars' new, $95 million, 4,000-seat theater, designed to look like the Colosseum in Rome. Dion's show will feature 60 backup performers under the multimedia orchestration of Franco Dragone, the director behind the slick Canadian circus troupe, Cirque du Soleil.

 

All this entertainment costs money, which is why Caesars will not get any proceeds from the tickets, with an average price of $125. Its only return is incremental spending from Dion's fans. Merrill Lynch analyst David Anders says that in order to meet its target of a 20% annual return from the theater, Park Place will have to extract $57 million from the expected 75% of the people who will buy tickets to the show but not stay at Caesars, or around $103 per person. That means a couple will need to spend over $400 in an evening. Park Place argues it can get the same return with just $50 per person. Anders is "ill-informed," complains a Park Place spokesman.

 

Oh, and Steve Wynn, who mercifully retired from poaching Caesars' high-end customers after selling out in 2000 to Kirk Kerkorian's MGM Grand, is back. He's building yet another high- roller palace, this time on the site of the old Desert Inn. The dice won't get any warmer for Park Place.

The costume, as shown on Oprah, was gorgeous; An Edwardian-ish coat and an oversized horse head with eyes that blinked.

 

Does anyone know where in the show this character was? Which song, and how soon was he taken out?

 

Also, the Oprah footage also shows some LED content of giraffes who form a heart with their necks. Where was this?
