Can we create a topic that's just for posting news about the new English album, and a separate topic for discussion of that news? I've seen something similar done in TV show message boards (i.e. two topics - one "spoilers only" and one "spoiler discussions") and it works really well. Latest confirmed news - UPDATED July 30, 2013

- Celine will promote her new album "Loved Me Back To Life" @ US talk shows in Sept & Oct and will then head to Europe.

- Title changed to "Loved Me Back To Life" Release date: October 22. "Loved Me Back To Life" will also be the first single.

- Celine recorded another cover, "Breakaway".

- The 2 covers on the new album will be "At Seventeen" and "Overjoyed". The latter will have a new arrangement created by Stevie Wonder and is produced by 'Tricky' Stewart.

- Ne-Yo recorded "Incredible", a duet with Celine.

- Album delayed again until October 2013, it will contain all new songs, no Vegas covers will on the new album. They have changed their plans because of the success of Sans Attendre.

- Singer/songwriter, Dana Parish has written a song for Celine called Always be your girl.

- Nadine from 'Girls Aloud' is working on her English album.

- Four or five songs have already been recorded for the English album, the rest will be recorded later in Florida.

- Tentative name is "Water and a Flame". It's possible the name will be changed, there are a few to choose from to be decided on January 9, 2013. No confirmation yet.

As many of you know, our current server overloaded (was down/unreacheable/lag) many times in the past due to the large number of members downloading and actively browsing/posting on the forum. As a result, pages won't load at all or take a long time to load, downloads would stop completely. That's frustrating, many members were not able to access the forum at all. Our websites demand a lot of resources. The current server's hardware is simply too weak to handle the huge load. It was good enough 2 years ago when there was a lot less activity but times have drastically changed due to the increased number of visits and downloads. To give you an idea, more than 3,000 people visit the forum everyday, in a busy month, we use well over 1 Terabye (1,000 GB/Go) of bandwidth. With the upcoming French and English albums, we anticipate the forum to be very busy. Plus, let's not forget about all the downloads from the new videos (English/French album promotion on TV). 2007 is going to be a huge year for Celine and the fans.

We thought now is a good time to upgrade to a higher end, better, and more powerful server. Not only will the server be able to easily handle the load, download speeds will be noticeably faster to everyone. It will give us a lot of room to grow in the future. Simply put, your experience here will be a better one! However, all this comes at a price which we are unable to afford monthly. Currently, the server cost is about $300 USD each month. The NEW server is $150 USD extra monthly, total price ($300 + $150) = $450/month. It is indeed very expensive to keep this forum server online. Plus the $300 one-time setup/upgrade fee.

Happy to join this forum! My favorite album of Celine is courage. And now and then I love to listen to the interviews she did around the album.
But I saw that some got removed on YouTube, or are not available anymore to watch. Would someone (as crazy as me hehe) have some downloaded?

"WDMHBN has been part of her shows for seven years now. 'It's a magnificent song. But some nights the same words is hard work.... Some nights I feel distraught, my heart feels cold... I can change my shows regulary. But, at the same time , I have to give people what they want.' 'Then one day I realise the magic is gone. It's like I've gotten everything out of the song, all it's flavour, all it's colours. It starts to be dull and insipid, like a piece of gum you've been chewing on too long... In Toronto I felt I was completly outside the song. No matter how much I told myself I liked it... I couldn't get into it.'"

Then she talks about 'how she fell in love with the song again', but did she? She never ever sung WDHMBN after the FIY tour. It's not even featured on ATW, while it was her first big hit!

Céline's next big world tour is coming up. And as we all experienced she is s performing the same 10 year old songs on the promotion wagon... the only relief is that she didn't sing TPOL on Oprah too! Sure you must be true to your past, and not forget your old songs (while actually she did with almost 99% of them!) but don't you think it's time for Céline to pull another 'Where does my heart beat now". Be brave and say... 'NO I am not singing that song again; it is totally drained, I cannot give it anything anymore!!!'?

I fear that the songlist for the TC tour will be just like the AND one, without the old covers like IGTWOAS and I wish, but an endless run of BYLM, TLYM, TPOL, IACBTMN, LCMM and of course MHWGO. But is 'Céline still believing that her heart will go on? If it is true (and don't start that here all over again!! ) Then she has been lipping the song for 4,5 years now! That says it all doesn't it? IF these old songs has to be part of her songlist, then PLEASE make it into a medley, 2 minutes top! that's enough! I hate to leave the concert with MHWGO as the last song sung! Céline has recorded over 350 songs! Why stay with this old lot for the rest of your life? I hope Céline will be brave enough and say 'I AM WOOOOOOOMAN!!!' and tell René and the rest that she is not going to make a LTAL tour part deux! It's the Taking Chances tour... and I really hope that at least 10 songs of this magnificent album will be sung by Céline in this tour!!

On August 21, 1998 Celine Dion performed at the FleetCenter in Boston, USA, in front of more than 19,000 people with the "Let´s Talk About Love Tour". This was the inaugural concert of the "Let´s Talk About Love Tour". Originally called "Celine Dion: On Tour 1998", the tour was set to begin August 1998 in Boston, USA this would mark the third time Celine has begun a tour in the city. She says it is the closest USA city to Montreal, Canada and considers it a "lucky charm". The concert was preceded by a press conference where Celine and her manager and husband Rene Angelil, talked about the new tour in USA, to help promote the album "Let´s Talk About Love". In reference to the show, the rock music critic Steve Morse, from The Boston Globe, wrote: "Despite Dion´s nerves, she was able to pull off a successful concert. For pure entertainment, however, this was a volcanic triumph". Celine thanked Boston fans for being "lucky charm people". According to Steve Morse, Celine opened her world tour with a high-tech, in-the-round show (on a heart-shaped stage) that sent a sold-out crowd of 18,300 fans into complete rapture. It was glitzy but glitch-free. Celine had told the crowd there might be "mistakes", but none were visible. And Celine stayed genuine even amid a lighting grid the size of a spaceship and a series of video duets with Barbra Streisand and the Bee Gees that threatened to get hokey. "New shoes, new clothes, new hair!", exclaimed Celine to the audience, whose long, tangly hair weave nearly went to her waist (actually were hair extensions), though she pulled it back Kate Winslet-like for a thrilling encore of "Titanic" hit, "My heart will go on", for which she also wore an Edwardian ball gown and sang from a white railing as though she were on the Titanic´s bow. No sentimentality was spared, but it was an effective moment of pop theater and the crowd loved it. She kept the crowd waiting until the end to hear it, but it sent everyone home in a state of smiling grace. This was an upbeat, entertaining show that focused on Celine´s last album, "Let´s Talk About Love", and was enhanced by some personal (and unrecorded) favorites that allowed her personality to rise above the show-biz effects. These favorites came via an acoustic medley in which Celine gathered her musicians around the center of the stage, as she sat on a hydraulically lifted swivel chair. She mesmerized with delicate rendering of Roberta Flack´s "The first time ever I saw your face", soothed with the Beatles´s "Because", touched hearts with Eric Clapton´s "Tears in heaven", and woke up the romantics in the house with Frank Sinatra´s "All the way", describing it as the favorite "couple" song between her and her husband Rene, who watched nervously from the side-lines. Speaking of nerves, Celine said "I´m so nervous tonight because this is the first show". Those first two songs were the album title track "Let´s talk about love" (augmented by a talented chorus from the W.H. Lincoln School in Brookline, a town in Massachusetts and part of Greater Boston) and "Declaration of love". Japanese violinist Taro Hakase came out for a bravura "To love you more" followed shortly by Celine singing "Tell him" with a video image of Streisand. Then came two French songs (led by "S´il suffisait d´aimer", translated "If it were enough that we love each other" said Celine), before she improvised beautifully on Eric Carmen´s "All by myself". Celine joked that she was hardly by herself because 50 people were working under the in-the-round stage. The overwrought portion of the show came on a Bee Gees medley of "Staying´ alive/You should be dancing" with Celine, in only her first costume change, prancing in a creamy white suit like John Travolta. Celine performed again at the FleetCenter in Boston, USA the following day (August 22, 1998).

Any lingering pretensions I have to being remotely cool — hey, stop laughing! — will be obliterated by this column.

But I’m OK with that. Because the burden of the secret I’ve been harbouring is growing too heavy for me to bear.

So, here goes: I think I like Céline Dion. Like, for real, not out of any sense of detached hipster irony.

For the sake of full disclosure, I have spent too many years being one of those people who ridiculed Céline for her hyper-emotional, chest-beating demeanour, her yen for saccharine power ballads and her unleavened sentimentality, on stage and off, which, when combined, made her such an easy target.

But I’ve been wrestling with this sea change in my world view for months now, ever since Céline — and I’m breaking with Gazette style here by using her first name on second reference, but if ever any star in this province has earned that kind of familiarity, it is she — appeared at the visitation for her late husband and manager René Angélil at the Notre-Dame Basilica in January.

It was a sight that still gives me chills whenever I think about it, which is surprisingly often. There was Céline, the biggest pop star Quebec has ever produced, standing for hours to personally greet the hundreds of fans who had gathered to pay their respects.

That mutual outpouring of affection was, as I wrote at the time, a visceral reminder of the fact that Céline occupies a special, rarefied place in the hearts of so many Quebecers.

And in the months since Angelil’s passing, the Céline who has re-emerged in the public spotlight over the past few weeks in particular has seemed like a new woman, on multiple levels.

The first signs of change were external, as Céline — long a fan of flamboyant frocks befitting a diva who had a years-long Las Vegas residency — turned heads at Paris Haute Couture Week this month with a chic, new look. The change has been widely credited to her new stylist Law Roach, who Céline herself has said has been instrumental to her fashion transformation since Angelil’s death. “Working with Law Roach is quite an experience to be honest with you,” she recently told Entertainment Tonight. “He brought me out of my closet and now flowers are growing.”

Céline’s new look reached an early apex when she was photographed in Paris wearing a sweatshirt bearing images from the film Titanic. That’s right, the woman who became a global icon with the phenomenal success of My Heart Will Go On, the treacly super-ballad from the soundtrack to that even more treacly box office smash starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, was wearing a Titanic sweatshirt. (This is still Céline, after all, so it wasn’t like the sweatshirt was a last-minute pickup at Winners; it’s from high-end Paris design house Vetements and retails for $885.) It was just refreshing to see that Céline hasn’t got too big to be ironic or too sheltered to not be in on the joke. And it was hard not to smile at the perfection of it all.

That heretofore obscured knowingness and playfulness was on even more evident display when I watched Céline’s genial appearance on Thursday night’s edition of the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In particular, her game turn in the show’s

I`ll start with it. For me it`s special because it was released the same year when I was born. I like Celine`s look - so fresh and a kind of sexy. The songs are great ( I love 'Partout je te vois', 'D`abord, c`est quoi l`amour' & 'On traverse un mirroir') and her voice sounds good. It may not be as pure as in the 1990s but I truly like it.

Film to Chronicle the Life and Career of Vocal Powerhouse from Oscar®-Nominated Filmmaker

Sony Music Entertainment's (SME) Premium Content Division, in partnership with SME Canada and Vermilion Films, today announced start of production for an untitled feature-length documentary about Celine Dion. From Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Irene Taylor, the documentary will serve as the definitive feature for one of the most immediately recognized, widely respected and successful performers in pop music history. Made with Dion's full participation and support, the film will commemorate the Canadian songstress' incredible life story and career accomplishments including iconic album releases, award accolades, world tours and Las Vegas residencies.

Imagined through the lens of acclaimed American filmmaker Irene Taylor, the documentary will delve deep into Dion's singular life experience. Most recently, Taylor directed the Emmy®-nominated documentary Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements. Her debut feature film, Hear and Now, won a Peabody Award and the Sundance Film Festival Audience Award. Billboard 200 All Time Artists chart- Celine placed in the top 25: #23! She placed above artist such as: #37. Adele, #38. Elvis, #73. Aretha,

and #77. Beyonce!

Billboard Hot 100 All Time Artists chart- Celine placed at #82, due to having 4 #1 songs so far on the Billboard Hot 100! I was bummed that Celine did not place higher here, but of Celine's 4 #1's, they spent a total of 18 weeks at the top. Many other artists have spent more weeks at #1.

(On a side note, Sony music only released a limited amount of Celine's biggest hit: My Heart Will Go On, less than 700,000 copies in the U.S.A. to focus on selling more copies of the Titanic soundtrack, which topped the Billboard 200 Album chart for a still record-breaking 16 consecutive weeks, going on to sell over 11 million copies. Almost the entire shipment of My Heart Will Go On were sold out within the first two weeks on going on sale in February, 1998, during the songs 2 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100! It has been stated by many music insiders over the years, that if Sony would've released a minimum of 5 million copies of My Heart Will Go On in the U.S.A., all copies would have been sold, and Celine's biggest hit could have possibly spent up to 19 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100! Had this happened, Celine would hold the record for the longest running #1 of all time on the Billboard Hot 100! And she would likely have the #1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time! At the time, Celine achieved the record for the Most Played song of all time on U.S.A. radio, first with a 116 Million audience in February '98, and then a 117 Million audience in March '98, according to Billboard. So this is a likely scenario, but we'll never know exactly.)

Also, another fun fact... Celine currently holds the record on Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, with 88 weeks at #1!, including 21 weeks at #1 with A New Day Has Come, and 10 weeks at #1 with My Heart Will Go On!

What craziness will she bring?

the RIAA. Adele is only the 8th female act to have at least 2 albums become certified Diamond by the RIAA for sales of more than 10 million copies. Not surprisingly, Celine is one of the 8 female acts to achieve at least 2 RIAA Diamond awards/certifications. Celine's albums to do that are: Falling Into You, and Let's Talk About Love, with sales of 11 and 10 million in the U.S.

This got me thinking... Celine has too many albums that are not certified at the sales level they should be. An example of that is: All The Way... A Decade Of Song, which should be certified for 8X Platinum by the RIAA, and has been over the 8 million album sales level for a long time now, according to official Soundscan verified album sales. Why hasn't Celine's team/Sony Music updated the certification for this album from 7 to 8X Platinum yet??

Other Albums that could be certified are by the RIAA with updated sales figures are: My Love: The Essential Collection, and Loved Me Back To Life.

The biggest missing Celine RIAA certifications are with Celine's digital singles!!! The digital singles market really took off in 2004, and is still popular today, along with streaming. Where are any of the certification awards she deserves?? This would show how relevant Celine's songs still are, in today's music!!!

It has been reported by Billboard and Soundscan that Celine's biggest song of her career, "My Heart Will Go On", had digital single sales of more than 1 million copies, and that was in early 2012! By now, "My Heart Will Go On" probably has sales of more than 2 million! Why has this song not been certified for at least a digital single platinum award by the RIAA??

And other Celine songs, such as "Because You Loved Me" and "Taking Chances", as well as the Christmas favorite "O Holy Night" have all sold enough copies in the U.S. to achieve digital single gold or platinum awards. Where are those awards??

I just checked the RIAA website, and was very disappointed to not see a lot of Celine's albums and songs not certified yet.

Why?? What is Sony Music waiting for?? If all the albums and singles that should be certified were, then Celine's RIAA certification total would be a lot higher, and believe me, these certifications are used to form many lists of the most successful female music artists. I want Celine's RIAA stats to be correct. They need to be updated. The question is... When?

Already in the Quebec media : the way Celine stopped the english career of Lara Fabian.

"At the height of her fame, Céline Dion threatened to leave Sony Music when she learned the record label was planning to offer Lara Fabian a contract to launch her career in the United States.

This is revealed by Vito Luprano, René Angélil's former right-hand man, in *It's All Coming Back To Me... From My Humble Beginnings to the True Story Behind Céline Dion's Career*, a book to be released on January 12, the contents of which were reportedly approved by Céline Dion's lawyers.

"If that happens, I won't record for Sony anymore," Céline Dion allegedly said in 1997 during a conference call that also included Luprano, then Vice President of A&R at Sony Music Canada, René Angélil, and Polly Anthony, President of 550 Music, the Sony Music subsidiary that wanted to sign the Belgian-Quebec singer.

Following this ultimatum, Sony Music executives sided with Céline Dion, and Lara Fabian ultimately never had the chance to try and win over the American market.

"She was mean"

According to Vito Luprano, Céline Dion was hurt by comments made by Lara Fabian after the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest final. Representing Switzerland, the Quebec singer won the prestigious competition, while her rival, representing Luxembourg, finished in fourth place.

Lara Fabian had then claimed that she was a better singer than Céline, Vito Luprano recounts in his book.

“She was really mean to Céline for no reason. René and I told her to ignore her, but it broke Céline’s heart,” Mr. Luprano said in an interview with the Journal.

Sony Music asked him to intercede with Céline Dion, but he says he refused. “She was right to do that. They called me to try and convince her, but I said no, I can’t convince her.”

No war, Lara had said

This account seems to contradict statements Lara Fabian made to European media outlets and the Journal in 2024. She denied that a rivalry existed between the two singers.

“I don’t believe in this war that was invented by the media.” “I’m not putting all the media in the same category, but there are two or three people involved in this story who have done harm, not just to her or just to me, but to all the people who love us and who felt forced to choose sides,” she told the Journal.

Describing herself as a great admirer of Céline Dion, Lara Fabian also stated that she has long hoped to sing a duet with her, a dream she still cherishes today.

Brace yourself for our latest bombshell! We’ve long suspected Celine Dion wasn’t done with Vegas, now we’ve gotten exclusive scoop she’s signed for a new residency at Resorts World.

That sound you hear is your brain exploding. Same.

While details related to this juicy rumor are scant, we hear Celine will get a custom theater built to her specifications at Resorts World, just as she did at Caesars Palace (at a cost of $108 million back in 2003).

 

Celine’s run at Caesars Palace, of course, is the stuff of Las Vegas legend.

Her final show at Caesars was June 8, 2019, after two residences (“A New Day” from 2003 to 2007 and “Celine” from 2011 to 2019), 16 years and 1,141 shows.

Celine Dion’s residences reaped a record-crushing $681 million in ticket sales. That’s a mind-boggling 4.6 million tickets.

When her Caesars Palace residency ended, there was a lot of speculation about what Celine might do next. At the time, other top names were being snagged by lucrative offers at Park MGM.

Then came a mysterious errant Tweet from the LVCVA (Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority), listing Celine among Park Theater’s roster of divas. The LVCVA said it was a mistake, but the stage was set for Celine’s return.

Around that time, we heard Celine had begun construction of a new home in Las Vegas, and knew she’d take a little time off and tour (artists are often contractually prevented from changing venues before a year has passed) before lining up another, even more profitable, gig in Las Vegas.

This might help put “profitable” into perspective: She made about $500,000 per show during her most recent Caesars Palace residency. It’s rumored Lady Gaga makes a million a show at Park MGM.

If the rumor proves true, Celine’s choice of Resorts World as her new home is huge for both the reigning queen of Las Vegas residencies and Resorts World, slated to open in summer 2021 following numerous delays.

 

For Resorts World, Celine would add an immediate stamp of legitimacy, and would bode well for the resort’s bottom line.

Celine’s appeal to a casino isn’t as much about ticket sales as it is other revenue. She appeals to a casino’s ideal customer. They not only buy expensive show tickets, but also spend money in the casino and on non-gambling amenities like restaurants, shopping and nightlife venues.

Celine’s residency at Caesars Palace was a windfall, and Resorts World no doubt would love to have that scenario unfold all over again.

The tricky part, of course, is a lot of people have seen Celine. Also, Resorts World will be an unknown quantity, and it remains to be seen if Celine’s star power will be enough to lure fans to a stand-alone resort on the north end of The Strip.

At the very least, a Celine Dion residency could cement Resorts World as a major player in Las Vegas, and would get the new resort on the radar of other A-list performers seeking a big payday.

 

Competition for entertainment dollars is already cutthroat in Las Vegas, and even more seats are coming online with the MSG Sphere and Raiders stadium.

Questions abound about who’s filling all those seats, as visitation in Las Vegas has been flat for two years and a number of shows have tanked in a big way recently, including “Blanc de Blanc” at Sahara and “R.U.N.” at Luxor (to the tune of $60 million).

It would be great to see Celine Dion back where she belongs, on the Las Vegas Strip.

She paved the way for other Vegas residencies including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and innumerable others.

The Celine Dion residency at Resorts World hasn’t been officially announced or confirmed, but our sources are awesome, official announcements are boring and dropping scoop first is just how we roll.

I dont know about you but i think the english fans were left out at the end of the 'Lets talk about love tour' because there was no english DVD releced, only Au cour du stade which was full of french songs! I love 'Au cour du stade' but i thought it would have been nice to have an english concert from the tour too!
