One of Celine's best!!!, March 19, 2006
Reviewer: Nicholas Whitehead (USA) - See all my reviews
Out of all of Celine's DVDs this one has to be one of her greatest! It includes most of her popular french hits and also many bonus features...behind the scenes, concerts, and extras! It rarley leaves my DVD player!!

I was absolutely surprised to see that we'd get a release of Celine's French videos!
It is absolutely amazing! The only dissapointments is that it doesn't include the Album launches or the DELIVRE-MOI video.
Also some of the sound effects were taken out of POUR QUE TU M'AIMES ENCORE and LOLITA (TROP JEUNE POUR AIMER).
Celine, thanks for this! Keep up the good work!

Amazon Review on the album...
"On Ne Change Pas" (named after one of Celine's songs from 1997's S'il Suffisait D'Aimer and Celine's 2005 French-language best-of) collects 17 of Celine's videos, from her first album at CBS (1987's Incognito) to 2005's first French best-of (On ne change pas).
The videos are rather randomly grouped, introduced by a sparse French title menu. Rare gems include Celine's work with Luc Plamondon on Incognito (Incognito, Lolita) and a B-side (Fais ce que tu voudras) from the Incognito era. Several of Celine's collaborations with Quebec rocker Plamondon are present, including Ziggy, Des mots qui sonnent, and Je danse dans ma tête in addition to Incognito and Lolita. The rest of the material is taken from Celine's work with Jean-Jacques Goldman (D'eux, S'il Suffisait D'Aimer, 1 fille & 4 types), with videos for some of Celine's greatest French hits such as Pour que tu m'aimes encore and L'amour existe encore.
As with other video collections, it's always fun to see the various stylistic visions of different directors and eras. "Incognito" features a neon backdrop, huge sunglasses, and Celine mugging for the camera. "Lolita" (my very first Celine song!) was filmed on location in Europe and remains my favourite video. Some of the offerings are hilarious (Celine's early channeling of Shania Twain in Des mots qui sonnent, finding her in a midriff-bearing fringed top and black leather chaps playing air guitar, the shameless hamming it up on Incognito, the four "guys" taking a roadside bathroom break on Tout l'or des hommes), others just strange (the voodoo symbolism on Pour que tu m'aimes encore, with Celine creepily caressing a marionette and burning effigies). Other videos are darker and more stark (the retro glamour and sensuality of Je sais pas, the modern violence and poverty of L'amour existe encore). Sensuality is expressed to varying degrees, with male nudity on Ziggy (complete with locker room and football field antics of male models) and lingerie-clad Celine (Je danse dans ma tete, Je sais pas, Pour que tu m'aimes encore). One of my favourite newer videos was On ne change pas, which featured Celine and classmates (or siblings?) as before (old school photo) and after (current) footage spliced with a young girl and childhood toys.
Extras include behind-the-scenes footage from the Stade de France and Live a Paris concerts, live performances of S'il suffisait d'aimer, Tomber/Ten Days with Garou at Bercy, Les derniers seront les premiers with J-J Goldman, Quand on n'a que l'amour (Live in Paris), and behind-the-scenes footage of albums S'il suffisait d'aimer, 1 fille & 4 types, Contre Nature, and Si Céline m'était contée, a second version of Je sais pas, Valse Adieu, and Ma Nouvelle France, capped off with a still photo gallery.
Although three of her videos from the 1980's Incognito period are featured, the collection relies heavily on more recent work from the 1990's. My only suggestion would be to rerelease Celine's earliest videos and out-of-print LPs from 1981-1988. In all, a pleasing addition to any Celine fan's collection, featuring rare videos, interviews (French), and extensive behind-the-scenes and live performances.

i think her latest single debut faster cause everyone knows Celine!!!! And when they see something new from Celine, they would buy the single but not everyone would be aware of the single due to lack of promotion

So suddenly, it's clear to me
Things change
Our future lies in here and now
We live it through somehow
Now the greatest reward
Is the love that I can give
I'm here for you now
For as long as I live
You made me who I am

Let's not plan our suicides just yet, I think it will pick up, you can't expect there to be an immidiate reaction.

Well, this compilation turned out to become another hit album for Celine!
We should be proud of her. That's not easy to remain SO popular and hot for so many years! She's been a star with her french songs for 25 years!
Love comes to those who believe it...
