The unreleased Star Spangled Love was leaked in May 2023. Believed to be a song written by Sia, the snipped is in Play Me Like A Love Song thread.

It was horrible! And the full version should never see the light of day! :giggle:

The short clip got me hooked. Of course her style of singing is terrible, but I would love to hear the full song :D It sounds better than Baby IMO

That song perfectly exemplifies the horrible singing habits Celine has added over the years. Idk why she insists on the yodeling frog thing...

It's 17 seconds. How can anyone hate it already?

The vocals aren't what we've grown to love but that's been the last few anglo albums

This really sounds like from 2003 A New Day vocals

I thought it sounded more like her froggy Taking Chances vocals

It kinda reminds me of her performance of Et Je T’aime Encore in A New Day 2003. Full of froggy like yodeling singing

Especially on this part “Oh ça m'a fait bizarre mais j'ai survécu”

Doesn't sound professionally done at all. My guess is somebody just used AI software with her voice.

That or it’s a demo take with zero post-processing done

The snippet is an unprocessed demo. Final version had Sia’s backing vocals. It’s just a really bad song overall. I mean just the title… lol

Not sure why everyone is suddenly convinced every new snippet of a track is AI-generated when that's the least likely explanation (Ockham's razor, people).

Anyway, this sounds god-awful. It's the rare occasion when I hope that an unreleased track never sees the light of day - normally I want to hear everything, but this sounds so bad I think it better that it never get out and sully Céline's reputation irreparably. :D

I hate when she sing like that. Its so bad. She sound like she didnt want to sing at all that day, she sound tired. I cant believe a producer was there and said « good job celine thats beautiful ».

Celine can sing the best.. but the worst too!

This is farrrrr from the Celine of the let’s talk about love making of 😅

I love Sia and her songs!!!! I wish Celine would have been offered “Alive” after Adele decided not to include it on “25.”

I hate when Celine mimics her or other artists. Just sing the song the Céline way! It’s almost as if she lost her artistry and singing the songs based on the demos they play for her. I’m not saying that’s the case, but she often seems to imitate songs she hears/likes and just records it that way…idk

You're right... she does do that sometimes. Whereas she should always just try to sound like Celine Dion. Tina Turner was always amazing and consistent at capturing her classic sound in the recording studio and singing live.

Maybe for Celine, as her voice aged, she tried out new things beacuse she found it more difficult to sound like her "old" self?

Her voice was so powerful and smooth in the 90s. And she's had some wonderful moments in more recent years as well... but when she tries to imitate other singers it just doesn't work.

She's always done that though. For a lot of the Celine Dion album she sounds like Whitney Houston. And what about her Toni Braxton phase during LTAL? And she pretty much sounds like a female Bee Gee on Immortality...

She's always been inspired by other artists and likes to play around with their singing styles. I love how she's able to do that.

True! The BeeGees singing was lovely. The Toni Braxton singing was rough. I’ve always skipped tracks like Why Oh Why. But on those songs she still sounds much more like herself than when she dies a Sia impression.
