No sarcasm. She copied Celine for too long! She always copied the same hairstyle as Celine for years. Now she has the long wig look. Soon she will probably go with the blond bob!   It's just kind of creepy.
There are so many talented Quebec female singers in case Celine is looking for a sincere duet partner.

All I will say is that they would sound incredible together singing that song like they did in that video. And that's all I care about, a beautifully interpreted song!

Totally agree, she has always come across to me as a Celine Dion wannabe.

Was just watching the clip of Celine winning Eurovision. Wasn't Lara Fabian the Belgian entry that year? Celine even out did her then.

A female who sings in French and English who happens to also do adult contemporary music/ballads...and is a massive fan of Celine! How that is confused with being a wannabe is beyond me, and it reflects the worst of super fan mentality. If in the early 2000s Lara had gotten a short blonde haircut, then I'd see your point--but please.

IMO, Lara is one of the only contemporary singers who give Celine her due, and yet she is mocked for it. After all, Celine idolized Barbra all her life and got to a sing a duet with her.

In this video, am I the only one who thinks that Lara copied Celine's looks at the 2016 AMA when she performed that Piaf's song? I could be wrong but that's what immediately came to my mind when i watched the video.

Wow, it seems to be a sensitive subject... Just look at her evolution in general and you'll see there a too many "coincidences" to be coincidences. When Celine got a perm, Lara got a perm. Celine got highlights, Lara got highlights. Celine went with long light hair (wig), so did Lara. The only look Lara didn't copy is the bun and blond bob from the CWT.  Let's see how long that will take.
Oh, and the all white look from the FIY tour... with white boots and microphone. Well she did that too... And moving to Montreal, now that's another interesting coincidence LOL. Now enough about her.

thats almost disturbing lol I think that’s why Celine never mentioned her. She didn’t want to acknowledge her existence. She was copying her in a hardcore way.

I think she is still hesitant to perform in French here in the States. Yeah she does Lady Marmalade but it is well known so maybe she feels safe. Who knows?

Yeah, I get that sense, too.
Back in early ‘90s I could understand. But now? She should embrace it.
People these days add accents to their names for the cool factor. And non-English music is taking over charts, YouTube, even prime-time TV. There’s no need to hide anymore.

Also her French music is significantly less pop-y...if at all? I think that could be another reason that people would be less receptive towards it.

I'm all for French and all languages being spoken and sung, but I think it's mostly Spanish and K-Pop that would make a dent here in the United States. I can't even recall the last time I heard any other language besides those on the radio...one has to explore oneself via streaming and Youtube.

That said, Celine is the best ambassador of all, if anyone will open mass audience ears, it's her.
