Well, I think it's always better to sing like yourslef, not someone else. Just my opinion. Successful singers have somehing unique which helps them stand out, makes them easiy recognizable.

I love watching the vocal coach reactions to Celine. Here's an example:
I find they often explain technical choices she makes. For example the yodeling she's often use between her higher and lower registers, or the piercing nature of her belts.

From listening to Celine so much, I feel I can really understand/predict her vocal choices...as best as a different person could.
Some of her signature traits
(1) Singing from the "mask" rather than the diaphragm..i.e. slightly nasal
(2) Her yodel-like tendencies i.e. semi-harsh breaks in between her chest and head voice
(3) Her ability to sing very softly extremely well, with a control of her volume better than anyone I've ever heard
(4) She loves to "punch" the same note repeatedly in her belted runs, i.e. the famous 1993 Can't Help Falling in Love riff or her 1990s endings of ABM
(5) She annunciates very thoroughly on words ending with "s", singing the whole word to completion. In her live performances of "The Prayer" when she sings the first phrase...I prayer you'll be our eyessssss
I am sure there are more! I'll come back to add some if I think of them.
