VOB file conversionHow do I convert vob files?

I have downloaded many videos from the multimedia section. Some of these videos are .VOB files. I know these are what DVDs are made of. The problem I'm having is, my DVD burners won't open the .VOB files for me to burn. All the conversion programs won't open these files either. Does anyone know how I can burn these videos to a DVD?
