I think they used it when discussing around 2003-2006 time period if im not mistaken, it was an instrumental for about 30 seconds

That’s still awesome! I bet it was chosen as a nod to the die hard fanbase. :)

Funnily enough the only time they referenced a “fan favourite track” was after playing nearly the full 5 minutes of TLYM  :giggle:

beautiful interview. reminded me why i adore this woman even though i critique her choices and sometimes her voice. it is so easy to forget how much this woman has given us, that she has been in the industry working her a** off for 28 years now. legend.

Listening now! There's something about it that really reminds me of this.. MTV/TRL/VH1.. interview..?? God I can't believe I don't remember it.. But she was in this outfit: https://www.dailymot...m/video/x2yjuyg someone help me out here.

Anyway.. there, and here, she had prepared remarks.. which afforded her a kind of... distance and the slightest hint of lamentation. I really loved her perspective then and hadn't heard it again until today.

I thought that interview was fantastic!

Actually, part of me is kinda shocked how sharp she is on details of these HUGE moments! I actually thought she would forget but I guess not.

If now she could actually sing a lot of those b side songs.

Wasn't sure what to expect having read some of the comments on here. I really enjoyed it, old school, much calmer Celine. And I love listening to her reminiscing about Rene.

I didn't get the whole Pepe is Ziggy thing. She said it is a song she wasn't that keen on but now reminds her of her gay friend so has more meaning now. Also, she didn't sing Ziggy when I saw her in Montreal in 2016, but she did sing it when I saw her in Paris in 2016 and I think when I saw her in Lyon in 2017. So I don't think it has been added to the new show for Pepe, it hadn't really dropped out of her usual French setlist, at least not in France anyway.

I wasn't expecting a literal alphabetical format for this interview, I thought it'd be an in depth interview in the form of a conversation. I would have preferred that, but it had some good moments nonetheless. Celine spoke very well, less gibberish-y lol.

My biggest take away is really the fact that Celine is way more perceptive and in the know of what's going on around her, both about herself and the industry in general, than most think she would be and even than she lets on most of the time. Like the part where she says she believes her success is due to her voice, song choice, personality, and the fact she likes to talk on stage as much as singing lol. I think she was spot on, it is a package deal imo. Interesting also to hear her say how albums don't sell as much today and she was lucky to have started a career in a different era in the music industry, she's definitively aware of the fact she isn't a strong streaming force.
Got the same impression of her self-awareness from the Q interview with her "blame it on the fashion" when asked what she thought about the Celinaissance. Ofc, that isn't the only reason for her resurgence into mainstream media but a big factor.

And I think in this interview she made it very clear that when she says she doesn't have "anything to prove" it's not that she doesn't want more success or isn't trying hard but that it's not her priority.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone else say this but I find her voice very soothing. She has an amazing singing voice obviously, but her normal speaking voice (especially now more mature) is very pretty and I like hearing her speak. Her laugh is pretty too
Sorry, I like ASMR so I tend to really notice peoples speaking voices lol.

The very reason why I adore 'Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset'. I love that spoken intro so much ❤

Yeah, same impression. She’s clearly in tune with the business, and is more self aware than many in the general public give her credit for.
She might be joking about it, but she really IS the boss and has the final say, so she’s got to be in the know to make informed decisions.

To be honest, I expected many of these interviews to be the same sound bytes, repeated to a multitude of journalists, but she turned out to be a lot more open, thoughtful, and reflective than I expected. It sounds to me a bit like she might be starting to look at this through the lens of her legacy, and what she’s going to leave behind for her kids. To that end, I expect her to do more of these kinds of substantive interviews in the future. It also helps that she’s finally being taken seriously by some of the more high-brow media that use to dismiss her. Like, there’s no way something like that September cover feature would have appeared in The Walrus in the ‘90s.

Yeah I’ve really enjoyed her speaking voice as well. And love it when she sings in her lower register. She’s going to make a killer jazz record one day, I’m convinced of it (but not yet; give it a decade or so).

I enjoyed the interview and the music a lot. It's an interesting interview. Her voice was calm and beautiful. She talked about her songs, her albums, producers/songwriters/singers she worked with, her childhood and her current life. It gets me closer to Celine's mind. And all the good memories have all come back to me through the interview. Really love this kind of interview!

Additionally, it could also have to do with the fact that she has been involved in the process of this album (and her career) "from A to Z". That maybe gives her confidence, she knows that whatever she is asked she'll be able to answer (if it's within the allowed points for now). Very different from before where she might have chosen the songs but not very much else because she wasn't a part of that process.

You can just see it in her reaction when her new music is being praised. I don't think I've ever seen her react like that. The compliments hit her more personally.

My God, it is amazing to hear Celine talk about HER work.  We always assume she forgets songs from her past, but she clearly hasn't.  I wish she'd just say *%&* it and perform new songs like Madonna does and offer just a few of her classics.   She will sell tickets no matter what she sings.

I agree whole heartedly; I feel she’s slowly but surely getting to that stage of her life. When she says she’d like to do small venues, I believe that’s what we would get.

Amazingly, some of these new interviews have made me fall back into love with Celine.  We don't get the nervous, sing every response...we get thoughtful, intelligent answers. I'm in love.

A little off topic, but it has to do with more intelligent interviews with Celine. Why hasn’t there been an interview with Celine and Oprah for 8-9 years?? I hope to see them together again, there’s a charisma they have that Celine doesn’t have with Ellen.
