NEW YORK – May 23, 2024 –In an NBC News exclusive, Celine Dion speaks with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb in her first television interview since being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. During the rare one-on-one, Dion shares a candid look at how she is coping with the illness.

The exclusive interview will air as a special primetime hour Tuesday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on NBC, with an extensive preview airing the same morning on TODAY. Additionally, the special will feature exclusive footage from the upcoming Amazon documentary I Am: Celine Dion.

As someone was saying in the documentary thread, I totally agree that the bun is actually mileeeeeeeeees better than the bob or any other wig. It makes her look fresh, young and above all NATURAL. It's 100% Celine. The bob makes her look stylish but it's too artificial for me.

Funny that the interview will be just a little shorter than the doc itself It's awesome it's not 5 min segment on a breakfast show but all this to say that the doc could be longer/have more episodes no to rush things. Not sure about the host, would have liked someone more prominent but won't complain at all as we are getting a REAL interview which we haven't really had for a decade or so.... this looks really promising.

Someone on Facebook said: "Guys, I was just randomly watching the Today Show this morning and Hoda Kotb talked about her secret assignment and it was CELINE DION. She flew to Las Vegas and they had an interview about her illness and a possible comeback."

It will be very interesting to hear what Céline will say about the comeback. I am a bit nervous, now everything is starting again. Will it be 'I am still learning to live with SPS' or 'I have managed to control my condition somehow, and my plans are...'

My mom goes Celine is on TV with Hoda, and I am what with no advertising. But it was Hoda telling us about the upcoming interview. It was already over so couldn't record it.

Going to record rest of Today maybe they will talk about it again. Possibly during the Hoda and Jenna hour.

Finally, not a tight bun. I like this better, a more relaxed bun. But still, overall I'm not a fan of her in a bun. I prefer her hair down.

Hmmm after Hoda's comments it sounds as if she was "not there yet". I am kind of afraid Celine will repeat in all interviews what she said in Vogue that she is working hard but she doesn't know what will happen in 4 months etc...

Same here, I hope/guess it's just to maintain the curiosity.

But the fact that they address specifically the effect of her disease on her voice scares me a lot. Not that this is not normal, just that's I'm so scared of the answer.

At the same time do they want to spill everything about this doc before it airs… definitely not.

But fingers crossed she’s good to go for atleast an Adele style schedule to start off with.

Guys, they are probably using dramatic terms to try and gain more interest. I find two notable things from this teaser clip.

1. She is walking as she chats, I know we’ve seen Celine walking in heels lately etc. but it’s definitely a sign of strength with SPS.
2. Hoda said she sang a bit and sounded incredible.

I think Celine is both dramatic and a perfectionist , which could explain both things. Her thinking she wasn’t going to “make it” and the vocal state of her voice.
