To celebrate Celine's 50th birthday I thought I'd share some photos of the creation of my Celine room at my house to showcase my Celine collection. I had the shelving already but wanted to upgrade it and turn the room into more of a dedicated mini Celine Museum. My inspiration was a Celine dressing room feel, or at least my interpretation of that. It took many long hours to rebuild the shelves, prime them, paint all the woodwork, install new lighting and wallpaper, but of course for Celine it is all worth it! Hope you enjoy!!

A quick run through, The shelves were turned vertical originally so I turned them over so that they now ran horizontal, because the shelves were made up of cheap beach cd cases I wanted to give them the appearance of being made of chunky wood so I put panelling on the front of each shelf and each dividing shelf to double the thickness of them.

I bought a new light fitting, to add spotlight illumination

I primed the whole unit with BIN primer and then applied 3 coats of a grey hard wearing paint.

I used the same paint for all other woodwork in the room and hung a shimmering grey flock wallpaper (which was a pain to hang, but worth it for that opulent dressing room feel I was after)

I bought a radiator cover to provide additional shelving, which I also painted and finally added some finishing touches like the chair, standard lamp, music system and of course some of my Celine photos and souvenirs. The cassettes are currently doubled over behind each other and all the LPs, 12 inches and 7 inches etc are in the cupboards below, along with other Celine nick nacks.
(PS: The other wall you don't see is holding my regular DVD collection, which is pretty large, but in time I intend to move that and do a phase 3 on the room when it is completely taken over by Celine.)

John what a dream to have! … (one day:) you’ve done it so well. Very chic and Claudette fronting up Celine in the cassettes section there hahaha - good to see. And that Celine Dion long box sneaking out there. All very dreamy

Haha well that was only during the construction and I was moving stuff around the room. She’s still there, but she’ll always take a back seat to her lil sister.

Just thought Id update you guys on my Celine Collection Room one year on.

As I had said I would eventually do, I relocated my movie collection to another part of the house and reconfigured the shelving to showcase more of my collection, including the ability to move my vinyl out of the cupboards and up onto the shelving. I also was able to fit my stereo and record player into the shelving area too, making it much more accessible.
This is pretty much the bulk of the construction work that I need to do on this room now.
