So cringeworthy! Ugh!! She even messed up the words. However it is ‘Celeb love for Céline’ and she even did two covers that Céline has also done (and slayed).
Makes me miss Linda... and Mégo.

Nice catch! And yes their friendship seems genuine and long-lasting...not sure that they met each other before Diva’s Live ‘98, but since then they’ve been gal pals.
Céline keeps on good terms with so many it seems. Patti Labelle calls her a girlfriend, Shania always has positive things to say, Celine calls Cher a friend, Carole King and her were buddies, and Barbra and her keep saying nice things.
Yay!

Celine's next French album could feature a duet of the two. It would certainly be a great song, with two incredible voices, and there are very few Celine duets with female singers.
If Celine ever acknowledges her LOL

Hmm... maybe we’ve been going about it the wrong way. Instead of pressuring Céline to sing more songs from Courage, we might have a better chance getting other artists to!!
From this clip, it sounds like Lara’s voice has aged a lot better than Céline‘s—not to mention her pronunciation is clear and open. Imagine Lara singing “Lying Down” or “Baby” 😍

Has it aged better, though? I agree on the pronunciation, and Lara has fabulous technique, but to me Lara can’t do her old songs as high quality as Céline can these days (from what I’ve seen).

Wait, you know Céline is using playback for her old songs, right??

Obviously, Celine's voice has changed a lot but imo, the differences between her and Lara boil down to not just how much Celine performs live but also Celine's natural voice in general. Everyone's voice changes differently as we age, even for those that aren't singers.
Then there's the measure one uses to consider one voice aging better than another. I don't know much about Lara but I wonder if she can reach her low register as beautifully as Celine can now.

I know that, and I’ve heard Céline lower the key for old ones too, but in James Corden’s carpool karaoke she showed off the original key versions of some tunes.
And doesn’t she do RDMH live every night, or partly? At any rate, if anything, her range has extended and she can go higher more easily than ever. And I would speculate she can hold notes slightly longer than Lara these days (trying to imagine Lara doing YTV)...
Not that range is everything..quality is too!

Rosie was actually pretty good looking before she decided to cut her hair and not dye it. I’ll never understand people who knowingly make themselves look worse.

Have you heard Lara sing before? Due to her impeccable technique, she sometimes does sound a bit “loose” and often lacks power and precision in her mid belts but her technique and how her voice flows from register to register is unbelievable.

I agree that Lara’s voice has aged very well, in fact it hasn’t really aged much at all. However, with Céline I don’t think you can really say that her voice has aged but rather it has changed due to her technique constantly evolving. For example, Céline might have less ease with mid belts now than she did in the mid 90s but mid 90s Céline would stand no change against present day Céline in upper belts. I think that if Céline’s would’ve kept a constant technique all throughout her career her voice would not be very different now.

Yup! I heard her sing before don’t get me wrong she has an amazing voice too! I think her famous song is ‘Broken Vow’. I think she’s called “ring” because of her resonance? But sometimes her singing style is a bit loose like she did when she sang courage while going down the stairs. She has a specific genre that really fits to her voice. I think her voice is not for most genre like Céline did like ‘Taking Chances’, it will not sound great for Lara. Lara is best for songs like ‘Broken Vow’, ‘I Surrender’, ‘L’amour Existe Encore’ that requires loose notes/words to belting.

I have to disagree. I am not scholed in all the techniques and stuff. So am talking as a fan of both. I am a fan of Céline since 1996 and of Lara since 2000.
For starters, both singers have a different voice. Céline's is more pinched and nasal at times. Lara's voice is more deep and less nasal.
Lara's voice definatly had a dip between roughly 2006 - 2010. She has recovered from that, but she's not where she was. I have seen her many times live and last time, in Amsterdam 2018, you could clearly hear she could not reach all the old high notes. There is a reason she doesn't perform Tout anymore in its Original version…
Maybe she has gotten a bit better since then. But to me, the way Lara sings is easier than Céline: she opens her mouth and produces a lot of sound, not it's not using difficult techniques, but more 'screaming'. Her last albums are also nice, but her voice doesn't have the quality as it did in the 90s or early 2000s.
Lastly, Lara doesn't perform as much as Céline. I think Céline overperformed since 2016 and that had effects on her voice. Céline is still an amazing singer and I hope that this obgliated time off will be a blessing for her voice in the end.
Both singers are great in their own league, but you can't really compare them. Thats my 2 cents

I saw her performance of ‘I Will Always Love You’, she was amazing on that performance. Songs like this really fits her voice. I like her belting voice.
