“How did that song come together?  
It actually started with an acid trip. I was in southern Italy and I had just taken acid in Amalfi with a bunch of friends. In this Airbnb that we’re staying at, the only source of music was this circular boombox from like 1995 and a collection of really beat-up, crap CDs. And one of them was some kind of bootleg Celine Dion compilation that was very clearly printed out on someone’s home computer—all songs I’d never heard of, like really deep cuts from her early catalog. There was one song that I heard from the next room and it was an absolute revelation. It’s like I saw her voice in the form of this beautiful sailboat cutting through the waves with this white sail billowing out behind it. Hearing all of the liquid soul and the vitality and strength in her voice, I just wept.”

She talks about the song inspired by Celine at about 8-10min into the interview.

The below is from the article but there's more in the interview:
"I heard [your song I Believe] was, in some ways, inspired by being on acid and listening to Céline Dion. Can you tell me that story?
I was on a road trip with some friends in Italy and heard this Céline Dion song — a very early deep cut. It was En amour.
The chord changes in that song are amazing. But hearing that song, I just kind of visualized her voice as this sort of white sailboat that was chopping through the ocean so purely and so victoriously. And I was moved to tears by hearing it.
When I returned to the studio afterwards, I kind of wanted to try my hand at that quite open-hearted, you know, throwing everything to the wind diva vocal style. And I Believe definitely came out of that train of thought."

She has mentioned Celine in other interviews, including in one Dutch magazine (OOR) that is paywalled. I was hoping someone had it because I was curious what she said in that.

CBS 60 Minutes just aired a 20-minute feature on Yannick Nezet Seguin. Celine was brought up, and they showed the clip of her and Pierre serenading Yannick on En Direct de l'Univers. Hopefully they'll put it online shortly.

Here's the 60 Minutes episode. Absolutely recommend watching the full YNS segment, which starts at 28min, but if you're just interested in the Celine bit it's at 40min.
