Tbh, I never liked her Celine impression or when she sings the song. She kinda ruins it for me.


But I love that Celine gets more known. Ariana is a good singer but shouldn't touch Celine songs(gets too much now, once was okay🙄) again,just my opinion. No mean to harm any fan.

nice catch! i wouldn't think stevie would play celine music, but it's so cool! i love stevie and fleetwood mac are one of the best bands ever.

I love that Tom seems to be a genuine Celine fan. Whenever he has a guest on who has worked or been associated with her in some way in the past, he seems to ask about it. It's great to see some genuine love for Celine in Canadian media lately. For too long, a lot of the tenor around her was "sorry, world, for Celine Dion". And it's not just her. Too often, Canada really loves to denigrate their own.

It is very weird how they only ask Deborah Cox about "vocal discipline" and "vocal rest" when they talk about Celine. They asked about Whitney like they were close friends, but Celine--who she toured with for a year--was left out. She got no questions about their fun memories or time together. It's happened before.

Yeah I noticed that too. Whenever she's asked about Celine, it's always about the "discipline." I guess that's her main takeaway from that gig (except of course from the big paycheck). In another interviee, she talks about the same thing:

To me, it is incredibly annoying. Deborah was with Celine for an entire year. Them not asking about anything else makes me think that Deborah and Celine had a fallout, or didn't get along or something.

I know Deborah did say Celine is flawless as a vocalist once, so that's something.

Does Celine really include her band in her personal life though? I mean, we will never know because they never talk about the personal stuff. I'm talking about Mego, Andre, Ives ect, It's always business talk. Going off of what I hear (or what little I hear/read)  she's a good boss that will give you a birthday card ect,ect. but doesn't get too close. That's the vibe I get anyway. Yes, no?

I think it’s also natural to talk about Whitney more because she has died - like keeping her spirit alive if you get what I mean?

I'm sure they have memories together beyond "I watched her do vocal rest for a year and really learned from that"....she could tell about Celine's personality or ask a number of interesting questions.

This is what I’ve always thought too.

I’ve always assumed that Celine has more of a professional, surface level (but friendly!) relationship with her team - especially back in her prime and while Rene was alive.

I think she was probably incredibly kind and thoughtful - but also kept herself in a bubble… where she’d focus on the work & some friendly banter. Then head back to her home / hotel room with Rene.

To me, she’s always seemed to be quite protective & selective of who she really lets in.

This shifted a bit after Rene passed - and she seemed to develop genuine friendships with her fashion team for a while.

Those who used to work with Celine back in the day probably had some friendly conversations with her - but, again, I imagine Celine always kept some distance.

We also see this with people in the business… like Oprah and Rosie. Celine seemingly keeps them at a distance too. It seems like she lets very few people truly close to her. Rosie would probably love to grab lunch with Celine & talk about life… but I don’t see Celine wanting to do that.

The "A New Day" DVD and materials (particularly behind-the-scenes) show Celine quite close with her team and crew. That's because they worked together in one place all as a team for a prolonged number of years. It's actually very touching the relationships she built. Not to say they are best friends (there were so many people), but the closeness and unique personal moments were there certainly.

On a tour things are constantly changing and band/backups/singers swap in and out more often. Inviting people to hang or come to her house is different, but I don't think Celine was very distant and a "just pleasantries" kind of gal. Hell, in the late 80s she made voiceovers for each of her band mate's personalities and moments in French during her Incognito concert release. She had a personalised variation of her warm up ritual with each of her bandmates in the late 90s.

Interestingly, in 2007 she was asked in an interview, and she said she does not want to be perceived as a boss.
