I adore the Home for the Holidays one too -- probably the best performance vocally.  But my favorite for the overall performance is this one with David Foster -- there's such genuine respect and affection between them, and Celine sings the song *to* him . . . looking at him at points like "for every dream you made come true" (after having just talked about how he helped make her dream of singing with Barbra Streisand come true); pointing to him at "cause you believed" (he was one of the first to believe in her English-speaking career).   It must have been the millionth time she sang that song, but she sang it with such sweetness and sincerity . . . it's why I love her so much.

It amazes me that her best performance of the song (Home for the Holidays) came almost almost 2 decades after the song was first released.  Her voice was insane in 2013/2014.

I absolutely love this performance too. She just hits other notes here and there, and she makes it amazing, I think that's one reason why. She makes it sound so unique. I love it. It is like she was singing to him, you're right. :)

Wasn't it insane? She does need to come baaaack!! At least do some interview before this year is up, is all I would love...

I like both above versions, as well as the one when Michael Jackson is watching her (though I think the song the a bit slow...).

Though it's extremely nasal, I like this one because she hit every note perfectly and its one of the two versions (the other being Regis & Kate) where she sang it in the original key:

I don't know if this has been discussed before.
I am not a music expert, but it's clear that Celine changed the way of singing BYLM.
At first, she sang it closer to the studio version (or was it pure lipsynching?), and in a few months she started to use a lower tone (or key) which sounds different. Does anybody know why ? to protect her voice ?

I like her performance in 1996 where she was getting an interview. She's wearing all white (i think) and they are talking about "santa claus". The intro was also amazing. I think she sang the soundtrack version because in album version they cut the intro.

To me, nothing beats (most of) her performance(s) in the Live In Montreal. Everything is just soooo perfect.

She's only been lipping it since august, and a few tv performances.

Personally, id say ANY performance which is shortened is automatically disqualified out of laziness, I could care less if blockbuster awards, oprah, wma, etc was sung better.

Nothing professionally filmed in 99 or 98 that I'm aware of. So I'd say london, memphis, montreal, Australia...those were all apart of the FIY tour. When I make a live cd with random performances I don't enjoy the extra minute where she talks to the crowd and makes them sing the last line (I don't have that much extra time on an 80 minute cd), so for that reason I go with montreal 1996 because I don't believe she asks audience to sing there

I really like the live version on the "All by Myself" US single which I believe is from one of the concerts in Australia during the FIY tour. No interruptions to ask the audience to sing with her, full song, good quality recording, and very effortless singing.

I think some of the Australia performances have not been in as great of quality. But I did manage to find a video or two that looked and sounded better than what was previously shared. Not sure if it's floating around still or not.

I do enjoy the regis performance where she sings the soundtrack version. I like the intro also. Too bad she never incorporated that as a regular thing. She always did strange arrangements on that show. Original key also. The only full length performance in original key is royal variety. That's also a decent one but a lot of people tend to not like it for some reason

My favorite live performance is definitely the one at Royal Variety. She looked gorgeous and, what's more important, sang the full song in its original key.

I wish she'd sing live in the original key more often!
