Celine booksWhich one's do you buy?

I was just wondering if any of you buy some of the unauthorized books about Celine?
I was wondering because I just realized that you can get a lot of Celine books on an norwegian online bookstore. But I won't buy them if they're not any good and just about gossiping and writing things that are not true. Are there any good unauthorized books or anyone worth spending money on?
Does anyone have any opinion about this?

For Keeps is very cool because of the pictures and stuff it offers but... that's it. I've read it once and it was enough. Not my style, definately. I'm a book nerd, I've read hundreds of books (I actually sleep with books lol) and I'm very picky and I felt this one was very poor. But the biggest interest about For Keeps it's the whole pictures and stuff so if that's what you're looking for, you'll be more than happy.
The other two books are fantastic! If anyone is looking for My Story My Dream, I advise you to look for the updated version (ends in 2001) rather than the original one. It's much more complete.

"Rene Angelil, The Making of Celine Dion" by Jean Beaunoyer. Supposedly the author of this book was one the members of a band that Rene was a part of in the 1960's called
"Les Baronets." They were kind of like a Quebec version the the Beatles.
The problem with the unauthorized books is you never know how much of what they says is true, if anything. But the problem with authorized versions is they are usually only going to write things in a favourable light and they may leave out negative things.
I will say that I thought the authorized book by Georges Hubert Germain was pretty good and the "For Keeps" book is nice, especially the photos.

The recent two official Celine books have been AMAZINGLY done. Not only did I want them for myself... I wanted to spread Celine to people I know through these books:
I bought about four copies of Miracle; one to keep and three to give out as gifts to friends; already gave out two.
I received "For Keeps" as a gift from one of my dearest friends two Christmas's ago
What's a better gift to give than a gift of Celine?
And I have like tons and tons of magazines with Celine in it; as part of the collection

Hey Sophoan... I have three copies of Miracle and six copies of For Keeps, so I know where you're coming from! Mine are probably to give out as well... I have ideas.
Anyway, you will definitely LOVE For Keeps... such a great book. When it comes to the unauthorized books you mentioned, I have two copies of that second one you posted... though I don't know why. I don't think I ever even read it.

Maybe it is, I paid $29.95 on celinedion.com, I could probably get it cheaper somewhere else. But I had to order it abroad anyway because this is the on eitem you can get in Norway. And there were something else I wanted from celinedion.com so I just ordered it there.
Has anyone ordered used stuff on amazon?
Are they usually in good conditions or should I not get used stuff from there?

I paid only €8,50 for it; the entrance for the "Boekenfestijn" (organized by the "Centrale Boekhandel") was FREE!
For Keeps is a beautiful book, I'm happy that I've got it without traveling to L.V. (I haven't got the money to travel to L.V.

I'm not sure what the person who posted that comment meant, but the first version of My Story, My Dream ended with Celine pregnant with RC. In 2001, a version was released with a new epilogue where RC was just born, and Celine reflects a bit on her new baby and about Rene as a father. The epilogue was maybe 10 pages, tops.
I believe that the Quebec (French) version of the book also had some additional information, but I haven't read it.

My very favorite is My Story, My Dream, because it's written in Celine's voice. I know Georges-Herbert Germain helped her write it, but I believe she read the whole thing; made changes where appropriate -- and you can just feel her voice coming through in a very genuine way.
