I'm sorry. Get well soon to your dad. My mother recently had cancer surgery and now she has MRSA. Having a sick parent is very stressful.

I know its difficult. May I suggest you write everything down in a notebook and ask questions, ask questions. You will feel empowered. There are community resources available to answer questions and offer ideas on making his surroundings safer such as grab bars for the bath and shower etc. inquire with social services at the hospital, they can point you in the right direction. I am going through this very thing also. I hope for the best for you both.

It sucks when people get sick or hurt, but when people are lucky enough to power through hardships and come out the other side even stronger, that's the greatest gift a person can receive!
Incognito, I hope your mother is one of the lucky ones. Sending my prayers her way. My mom had breast cancer 5 years ago and she is cancer free today. Never know what tomorrow can bring, you just have to be greatfull for each day you are given on this earth and live them to the fullest. That's what things like this teach us.
To kathy4, good luck with your dad's surgery! My prayers go out to you both.
