This summer Sony Music will release in Europe Celine Dion's 'The Essential'. It is basically a re-release of 'My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection'.

Even after this I'm sure some fans will be totally excited and will question that they treat us like a stupid flock of sheep (YES, that's how I feel when I see this cheap & useless re-releases) :giggle:

this looks so cheap. and that's celebrating her 30 years in music?! Yeap now I have to say I LOVE her team! that's the best decision they have ever made. Her career is awesome and they care about her so much. Thanks!

As a sidenote for the complaining people, Sony does that for all artists; when artists release new albums or when they are on tour, Sony deliberately re-releases CDs of those artists in different packagings or in 2CD packages. This CD is just meant to be a filler CD you would catch at the mall while you are shopping; nothing to be appauled over because every artist litteraly gets the same treatment with Sony or other major labels.

they also released Whitney and MC earlier this year and it's 2 disc but same track as their greatest hits which were already released.. so yeah nothing really special though

also i did say that My Love essential collection was not "The Essential" series.. and now that's the Essentail  lol

another re-release of My Love???????? they want to make sure that celine will always be remembered of those same songs.. forgetting how many gems she has made in the past.. where are all those songs???
oh and by the way - I want to apply for a job as graphic designer at that ad-agency that made this horrible cover! this is just crap...
I wonder if Rene made the cover himself by using his - how to design with ms paint!  shame on you recordcompany and shame on you designers!

With the difference that with those many other artists, Sony does a greater job and promotion than with Céline :rolleyes: Not to mention that all those artists that Timster posted have not even half or a quarter of the material than Céline has, in terms of number of albums and songs and concerts that remain unreleased :rolleyes:

All those artists may get the same cheap re-release as Céline, but in Céline's case, having such a big discography, Sony releases dozens of these repackaged albums and then for one english album she releases in 4 years (Taking Chances), she gets one official single and 0 promotion after it  :rolleyes: It's just an abuse and a mockery for Céline's new material. And it's just not fair, from my point of view, but maybe I'm crazy.
