Anybody have any info about that german version of Celine for the french song C'est pour vivre ?? Never heard of that before!



I knew about Was bedeute ich dir (D'amour ou d'amitié), Mon ami, geh nicht fort (Mon ami m'a quittée) and
Hand in Hand (Ne partez pas sans moi) but not that one!

I've always been very curious about Nur Das Leben, mainly because of the fact that it doesn't belong to any album or single, unlike Celine's other German recordings (Was Bedeute Ich Dir and Mon Ami Geh Nich Fort, were both included on the German 'D'amour ou D'amitié' single in 1983 and Hand in Hand was released as a commercial single in Germany in 1988).

The only explanation that comes to my mind is that this recording of Nur Das Leben leaked through the internet at a certain moment and it was supposed to be part of an entire album Celine was recording in German between late 1986 and early 1987, before coming up with the idea of 'Incognito'. Céline herself talked about this project during an interview at the Quebec show 'Star D'un Soir' in Christmas of 1986 and even sang a bit of Nur Das Leben acapella.

The video used to be on YouTube but was recently removed. I'll post it again over the coming days on the multimedia section of my website www.celinedionspain.com so you can all download it

This said I think you made a mistake....."Was Bedeute Ich Dir" and "Mon Ami Geh Nich Fort" were never part of of the German 'D'amour Ou D'amitie' single, since there is never released one in Germany. It was only released in Canada, France and Belgium. I think you are referring to the Double A single of Was Bedeute Ich Dir / Mon Ami Geh Nich Fort .

here at 6min10 she say she was going to germany to record a german album. Sadly it never see the light of the day but that means there are others songs in german!

She should at least record an EP of songs in Spanish. I've always thought that "Sola Otra Vez" sounds more emotional and powerful than "All By Myself"...

I think Celine's focus was on the English-speaking market at the end of the 80s/early 90s, because it was the biggest.

got you maybe they dropped the German plan to release Unison and go big in America. Probably they initially envisioned Celine to become a second Mirell Mathieu, but then they turned her into a Helene Fischer in America (from small Schlager to huge Pop) (The German fans will get it )

Definitiv richtig....Helene did an interview at the biggest radio station in Austria....and she said that her biggest wish is to sing a duett with Céline.....I guess it will be just a wish

No there were 2 songs released: Was Bedeute Ich Dir and Mon Ami Geh Nicht Fort, but the single didn't become a hit. So I guess they decided to concentrate on the French market instead.

Unison was released in 18 countrys during 1990 and 1991, like Australia, Germany, UK, Japan and US. And Céline promoted the album in Europe, with manys interviews and performances Live. In fact, Céline never have a hit in Germany until the mid 1990's, when The Colour of my love was released and appear Céline for the first time in the german charts (The power of Love, Misled and Think Twice was charted in the top 100, of course, Think Twice was the most successful single of the album).
