I was searching on the internet for fun to see if any of Celine's houses dropped in prize, and found something that I find odd. Celine bought the Vegas house at rue Mediterra in Lake Las Vegas from Rene, as you can see in the picture. Strange isn't it?.

Doesnt he manage her money? Maybe he bought it using Celine's name to buy off his own house? Maybe someone here might know something about this.

That still doesn't make sence. René is the Seller and Celine the Buyer. If René manage her money why would he buy and sell the same house?

I don't know the real estate business at all.  So, all of what I'm going to type is a total guess on my part.

Perhaps Celine and Rene knew of Rene's recent declining health well before his December operation.  If that is the case, perhaps Rene wanted to sell the property to Celine so if anything were to happen to him, the transfer of property would be one less thing for them to worry about in the future?  Maybe it was easier to just do a straight sale to from Rene to Celine instead of a property transfer?  I have no idea.  Anyway, perhaps Rene's health had something to do with it, and they did it for when the time comes for him to go Home?

It's not that strange really. It could have been a number of things. It may have been an attempt to avoid some type of legal judgment (if they changed names on the title before any judgment was placed, the judgment would not follow the house, but talk to a lawyer first about that--it may depend on the state, I don't know), it could have been to devalue assets (for example, if a person is being sued, they may want to lower their net value and getting rid of property would do that, but a person would need to talk to a lawyer first obviously.).  Or it could have just been that AEG built the house (the article discussing this is in the Random Thoughts thread), if Rene is the president of their corporation and not Celine, it may have been transferred to her name to take it out of the business (and this may have been for a few different reasons). I do not think it would have been health related. If it was marital property, she has half the house regardless, and she would get his half (depending on the state, this would occur even if there was not a will). But, I cannot imagine that they do not both have wills. So, I do not think this was health related at all.

But, I think flutefreak has  a point about what it may have involved (let's be honest, reading that sentence out loud just sounds funny). I believe the case you are referring to occurred in 2000. But, in 2002, the lady sought to overturn the financial settlement and filed a lawsuit. It was in 2003 when the negotiation for the lawsuit was set to occur, but that ended up being an FBI sting on the extortion and the lady was arrested at that meeting.  Information can be found here:  http://www.lasvegass...-angelil-extor/

My guess: It was probably in some way about the legal protection of assets (and probably the 2002-2003 case referenced above)

Yeah, I'd guess it was for tax purposes or something in relation to their money, too.  Another interesting thing is that the first buyer, in 2001, was the Anschutz Entertainment Group.  I guess the house was part of the deal for Celine to perform in Vegas.  The funny thing is that the purchase history doesn't explain how or when the title was transferred from Anschutz Entertainment to Rene.

They also appear to have bought the hose next door, jointly: http://lasvegas.bloc...drive/  (This is for 17 Rue Mediterra; the first link was for 19 Rue Mediterra. . and it lists both Celine and Rene as the buyers, though only Celine is listed as the owner. I'm sure it's for some monetary reason.

This website isn't trustworthy at all because I looked up my own house and the buyer and seller is completely messed up lol! Because of that...I don't think Celine bought the house from Rene, it'd be kinda weird don't ya think?

Oh by the way since we're on this topic of her las vegas home, do you guys know if there's anymore news on Celine's new house in Vegas that's currently being built..?? Hopefully there's photos on construction or something like that like there was for the FLorida house, loved to see it!

Yeah, I think it's ust all messed up hahaha. For my house, it says that the buyer is our next door neighbor and that we sold the house



I've been living here for yearsssss and our next door neighbor DEFINITELY never bought our house hahaha. The whole "buyer/seller" thing could be true for some/most people on here, but for Celine and Rene (and for me too) I guess it's not. I don't know who enters in the info for this website, maybe it's kinda like wikipedia where you can either make an account and put in any info you want, or you have to get it approved by the website owner or something. Who knows!

Although the buyer/seller nfo for their house is terribly wrong, the other info seems to be right...they added in two more rooms for the twins so it being at 5 now and I guess the dimensions are right haha sooo who knows! But buyer/seller, WRONG. ! (at least, I think so...it's DEFINITELY wrong for my house)

I live in LA but I was on a hollywood tour with some friends and we passed by this apartment complex that supposedly many celebs have either rented or owned condos (veryyyy expensive just by the looks of it) and the tour guide on the bus said that Celine owns a condo in there.

Has anyone heard of Celine owning a condo? I asked the tour guide if she currently owns it...or if she's owned it in the past or rented it and she said that Celine was recently there and owns the condo.

WTF? LOL never heard this before. And how the hell does the tour guide know Celine recently went to the condo (creepy haha)

That's what I was looking for in the first place, since there are a lot of plots for sale in Lake Las Vegas, and one is currently for sale for 3,5K. And I was searching Zillow and the Vegas house "for sale" is not on there anymore.. but her Florida is taken off also...

Wait her Florida house was taken off the website or off the market? God if someone actually buys the Florida house I'll be so sad! Haha

But the land that celine bought for her new house in LV was bought a while ago because celine said it was being built and it'll be ready in about 2 years, so now a little over 1 year since she said this in like September.

Do you remember the street the condos were on, or if the condos had a name or something? Sometimes high end places are named. I am curious now to know what these condos look like. I would love to drive past them some day if I ever visit L.A.

It wouldn't surprise me if she had one in LA. I didn't think she cared for LA much?  She has said that buying property is like playing monopoly to her.

Yep, her Vegas home is part of her Vegas contract. AEG Live built the first home, or bought it anyway.  Then, after the twins, AEG paid to expand the home. Now, AEG is paying to build her new Vegas home.  There is an article in the Random Thoughts thread that is an interview with an AEG Executive who mentions this, but more like in a teasing way. He said something like  Caesars Palace built her the Colosseum, but AEG has built her home three times now but then he said he wasn't going to get into it, haha.

I agree it's for monetary reasons. Changing the title from one spouse to another is not weird or random. Depending on the circumstances, like some I mentioned previously in this thread, it's just a smart business decision.

I agree.  As to the LA property, she probably owns property all over that we have no idea about. Like she said previously, it's a good investment.

Yeah the next door house is Celine's sister Linda and her husband Alain's. I remember she said that she bought the extra land next to it and built a house for her and her husband so they could easily take care of RC, yet have a house of their own lol.

Even though it's only like 1 bedroom but I doubt they spend much time there considering they take care of the twins and RC lol.

Yes that was it! I didn't know it was called Sierra Towers because I don't remember what the tour guide called it because I was really confused and I kept asking my friends if she really said Celine owns a condo there But yes I'm almost positive that this was it (: I live about 20 min away from this because I live in the more "rural" area per say of LA.

HOLY S***. I looked up pics of the interior of some of the condos in the building...THEY'RE AMAZING. Well, could you really expect anything else? lol

I looked it up and Elton John, Cher, Matthew Perry and others came up but no celine....but they were all articles on like celebs selling the condos and the asking price for it, so maybe that's why Celine's name doesn't show up in any way.

OMG. I can't believe I guessed it right. I don't live anywhere near L.A. LOL. I didn't know that Celine had a place there. I'm actually kind of shocked to find out that she owns a condo in L.A. of all places.

Celine has never shown a great fondness for L.A. She gets sick there all the time and tries to avoid going there whenever she can. I wonder how much money is spent on owning that condo. Kind of a waste of money when she's hardly ever there.

Celine is worried about not using the Florida house that often so she decides to sell it, Yet she keeps a condo that she very rarely uses. To me it would make much more sense to sell the condo and keep the house in Florida.

Yeah I get it, she's a celebrity who travels to many different places all the time and things are made more simple when you can own different properties around the world and not stay in so many hotels, but if I were her, I would sell that condo and keep the house in Florida.

I love the Florida house so much. It was Celine's dream home that she always wanted. She was so happy when she first bought that house and thought up the creation of everything and the interior design. Celine already had everything dreamed up in her head ready to go.

I remember her talking about her ideas and all the planning when she was on her TC tour. She would look through tones of magazine and put post its on all the things she liked on her days off from the tour. She was so excited.

I even remember her saying that it was her dream home and that she would never sell it, so it really makes know sense to me why she would sell her dream home for not using it enough and then keep a condo that she never uses.

Celine has her reasons I guess and lord knows she has enough money to buy and sell as many homes as she wants. I just wish she wouldn't sell the Florida home, when I know she loves it so much.

It kinda breaks my heart, because I have never heard Celine talk about a house so fondly as she did for the Florida home. I guess it all comes down to that huge water bill. I think Celine kind of regrets building that Disneyland sized water park. LOL.
