The only thing I cannot get into is the high note after "you never gave up on me" I wish she did it the way she originally recorded it. Though  I get why she does it that way

I personally like her using her head voice because it gives the song more vocal variety..most of it is belting

I thought the high note at the bridge was perfect.  You'll notice when it's easy for her she doesn't take a breath after "you never gave up on meeeee" and goes directly into the note.  Actually in the 2 disastrous performances at Ellen and Kimmel, the highest note at the bridge was fine, it was the belts during the chorus that she cracked on...

yes, i also heard that. And you would think that singing it in lower key should solve this, it should be better to belt in lower key. But I think this song is quite heavy to sing for live. And the high note still sounds a bit like a ... well ...like...let's not say that , but i guess that high note is very difficult to sing live. So , as I said before, maybe prerecord the note so the rest of the song can be in normal key.
I am not promoting prerecording at all, but this is one of those moments that it is maybe needed. It would do the song much more when performed in normal key I think.

I really loved it!! the interview was sharp and funny, the password game was a mess but totally funny! too bad Celine didn't get to do more hints... would have loved to hear her interpretation of Respect and Thriller... And too funny when she said; this wasn't a song of mine was it?! PHHHHHEW! :mdr:

As for LMBTL... I think it was a strong performance, as others said, this is a song that needs to be played and sung in full concert mode, but I think this worked pretty well for a tv show. I love seeing her band with her! You notice it with Celine directly too... she is more comfortable and takes more risks when she has them along.

oh yeah and she looked hawt!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this haircolour!! way better than that blonde hair!!

Just seen the performance on YouTube - it was absolutely fantastic. For the first time, everything came together perfectly. The new key (1 semitone lower, just like SLS was earlier on the Today Show) sounded great, she was so much more comfortable and was totally in control of the performance from start to finish. The bridge into the high note was smooth sailing for her, and there were no obvious pitching issues. But it wasn't just Celine's part that sounded better - the band have clearly revised their arrangement, and the whole sound was far superior to the original version used during the first round of promotion on Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen.

I was very impressed, especially considering Celine was singing early in the morning and again at night!  For the first time she looked as if she actually enjoyed performing that song.

Interview

Loved Me Back To Life performance

Singing Password segment

She is so charismatic! And that performance was great, so controlled; not sold on the new arrangement of the song though. This has probably been my favourite interview she's done, the Singing Password segment was hilarious. And she won, yay!

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

I just came home and HAD to see the interview and performance!

The performance was much better than I anticipated. Her voice sounds so good!  And it's amazing that she's not focusing on just one song for all the performances and she's giving us variety.

The interview was a bit short, but yes, the game was hilarious. I loved her victory dances. And I totally salivate when I see that gorgeous vinyl record which I so want to have!

It's so fun to see her on my favorite late night show.  The interview, though short, was really nice. Jimmy is just so kind and enthusiastic about all his guests! The game was really fun and kind of silly (which is kind of how all of his games are), and I was glad that she sounded and looked so confident during LMBTL, even though I agree with a few who have already mentioned that the song seems to be lacking some of the "bombast" when it's performed live. I think it's just the nature of the song's production; all in all, I'm glad that she performed it on this platform, though.

Fun interview. Why doesn't any of the interviewers ever ask her about her figure, she looks stunning, working out regularly or what? Just good genes maybe.

Was the song "Crazy" only big in the US? It didn't seem like either Celine or Hugh had heard of it. It is a country song I guess..

Decided to go to sleep after all last night, but these videos made my morning!  The singing password was hysterical, and the interview was FABULOUS!  And Celine saying random French words with a funny talk show host who's pretending to talk in French too?  It's just like Rosie again!! LOVE it!!

OK, now I'm going to be late for work, but that was so worth it!! Yay!!

Loved it. Celine was so much more relaxed than she has been recently and although the key of the song was lowered it was much better for it.  I'm still incredibly nervous about her X Factor performance though, 10 million people in the UK will be watching that night so she needs to nail it.

By the way, she's looking the best she's looked in years at the moment. Simply stunning.

that is because bass and guitar were too loud and too much, so were the backing vocals

Only a bit in the highest note in the end. Maybe she should prerecord that big note, then she can do the whole song in normal key, would sound way better

I think that was the best song on the performance.

On the rest of the song she still struggles the choruses even if they were lowered, I think it's the difficulty of singing the "liiiife" part. Please go back to the original key. This one lacks power!!!!

Wow, that was great :) I must admit that I watched Jimmy Fallon for the first time, but I really liked him, and the fact that he's obviously a big Celine fan. In my opinion, that was one of her funniest appearances in a while. I loved the interview and men, she was dressed to kill, that little black dress and those legs, wow :giggle: It was also best LMBTL performance, she was magnifique

Much better in my opinion. But this arrangement misses a lot in the refrain, makng it less powerful. I think some synths are missing. And in the guitar in the end does not do it for me at all. The song sounds a bit messy in the end of the song..I mean the guitars, the backgroundsingers are even a bit off time it sounds.

It's definitely a Mego arrangement, he takes out the fun of every "modern" song

Nope, she was fine.  It may have lost a little power because it's in a lower key, but she was on point.

Actually, the bridge here was the best she's ever done it imo, although obviously this is because it's in a lower key so it's much easier for her.  It was so smooth for her to hit the note, dip down then go back up before transitioning to the head voice section.  In Quebec it was a throaty scream that was fixed in post-production.  In some of the other live TV performances she has trouble going back up to the original high note after the dip

Also, am I the only one who noticed the bunch of people in the back (besides her band and backup singers?). At first I thought they were just dancing but then I noticed they started to sing towards the climax.  It gave it a LOT more energy imo.

Of course nothign can beat the original EDM/dubstep inspired arrangement from the studio track, but I don't think edm tracks by their nature can ever be properly translated into live performances.  I think this is a step in the right direction for her team.

Silly, those people in the back were the band bench winners lol....2 of them were forum members!! DavidJag and Jamieb!!!

This was a GREAT promo for the album. Everything was flawless.

We love Jimmy!! the look was right on spot!

I still prefer the Québec performance because she was a little bit off on the high notes even if it was lowered. But still she's mastering the song a lot better than before. Hopefully she can go back to the original key!

Any impact on the charts? iTunes?
