This September I will be running the Dam to Damloop in Amsterdam to collect money for The Edwin van der Sar Foundation. It 4 English Mile, 6,4 km.
I have never run a distance like that, so I'm training now to dot he final run in September!
And I'm searching sponsors!!
If you like to help, the money is not going to me but directly send to the Edwin van der Sar Foundation, which is helping people who suffered from a brain damage.
The Foundation was established after Edwin van der Sar retired as a professional Dutch footballer in 2011. Edwin and his wife Annemarie consciously chose the purpose of their foundation. They and their family have experienced for themselves just how drastic the impact of brain damage can be. They are both actively involved in the Foundation’s work; Annemarie is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors while Edwin is the Patron.
The Foundation targets people living with the consequences of brain damage caused by a stroke, brain trauma or surgery, for example. They particularly focus on the difficult period when people are trying to resume their daily lives. This requires the right quality of help and care, with access to the best therapies or training, for example. It’s not always easy to navigate your way through the available options. The Foundation wants to make this process more transparent.
