Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I am sorry to say that after hearing the full version, I wonder WHY THE HELL they choose this as the first single? The lyrics are good, but just like TLDH the song is so damn short and indeed missing that extra touch
I do hope the Plamandon songs are nothing like this and indeed a bit better....

I had high hopes for the full version, but in all like Adi said; the melody is the same all the time, which is a bit boring. Defo not the best first single of a new album :sad:

I do agree with some of the comments. This feels like more of a teaser than a single. It needs to crank it up a bit. I like how she starts simply then the beat comes in, but it needs an extra punch to make it single material. As it is it maintains the same pace throughout, the last couple of verses could have taken some high notes.
I can't say anything critical about her phrasing as that seems to be only something that mainly irritates purists of the French language.
Anyway, I'm still hoping that when the next single is released closer to November we will get something with more bite to it.

I don't dislike the song, if I heard it in the middle of the album I'd find it to be a sweet song, a bit of a pallet cleanser before a main course if you will, but not sure this is going to be the song to take me through the next few months of waiting.

some of the reactions here; "predictable"..."old fashioned".. "not amazing"... I always wonder, that when we can easily judge after listening to a song what the overall opinion is, that SONY picks a filler song like this, as a FIRST SINGLE????  I wonder is that completely their decision or does have Rene or Celine have influence in this too? well it has already been done, nothing we can do about it. I hope Celine will have a succes with this album in the Francophone countries. I am sure she will. But not because this song triggers to buy that album.

I think it is an ok song if you are looking for some relaxing Celine music to play in the background while you are working or something, but it is definitely not a song that will make people sit up and take note.

I've always thought that there are two types listeners when it comes to music. Some people will listen to the medoly first, while others listen to the words first. I think that is why some people think it is a good song, while some of us don't. The words are very pretty, but like some of you said, it just doesn't go anywhere.

I just hope that this is not the route they took for the whole album. It kind of scares me considering they chose this as the first single and to represent the album.

This is ridiculous. Amazon UK has a blue box in the corner saying "This song will be available on 8 July 2012", yet it says "Original release date: 2 July 2012" twice on the very same page!

And when I try to click on the song in iTunes UK I get an error message saying "The item you've requested is not available"

For me, this song is 1 musical phrase repeated 48 times, surely the worst single of Celine so far.

I'm disappointed even though I didn't hope so much when I knew that it was a song of Mr Veneruso.    

But it's still "listenable" thanks to Celine's voice, even though her singing isn't perfect in this song (due to throat virus ?)

I give the song 6/10.

I keep hoping for the new album because it seems to me that « Parler à mon père » is the only one song written by Mr Veneruso in this album.

yeah I'm having issues finding it on iTunes uk - grrrrr never simple - never mind sorted it out :-)

i adore this song so much - i think if it had higher notes it would distort the essence of this track. I do agree that it isn't a great song to lead into the new album - so i would hope we get a more gutsy single prior the album release.

Well it was there when I searched for it this morning. However, when I clicked on it I kept getting the error message. So I tried clicking on the little "Buy" button underneath, and it worked. So you can buy it from the search results page, but you can't click to get to the main song page with all the details.

Carina, I totally get where you are coming from. If I didn't understand a little bit of French, I probably would have never bothered to buy Celine's French music.

But it is so funny that you actually chose a Steve as an example. Sometimes when I look at this guy and his career and I see how he just kicks everybody's asses, even the younger artists popping up, it just makes me soooo sad when you look at Celine and Rene's attitudes towards her career lately. He just never stops, he always has a song on the radio playing, and it is always bloody brilliant. He is truly a living legend.

Btw, for those of you wondering, he is around the same age as Celine, and if I'm not mistaken he is one of the biggest selling artists in South Africa. He also once said in an interview in a magazine that he sang a duet with Celine. But I've searched for it everywhere, can't find it. Don't know where and when that was.

That's too bad, it's probably the same reason many people refuse to watch foreign films, even with subtitles.
