Everything is ok... except Celine's voice, phrasing and accent :s.

You're absolutely right, the only 'problem ' I had with "D'elles" was that it was too short and left me wanting for more (which is obviously a great thing), apart from that I love every single song from this album.
For me it was far from boring, besides it had "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une", "Je ne suis pas celle" (my personal fav), Je cherche l'ombre", "On s'est aimé à cause", "Immensité" and "La diva" which all represent the highs of Celine's French career.

but when she says those words:
"ceux" "couleurs" "coeur" "père"
She sounds like she's an English speaking person with an accent.

If French is your primary language, i think you'll understand. (maybe not if you're from France....idk)

Its different, but i like it.

I am pleasently surprised by the cover art! It's a nice change. It reminds me alot of the type of images featured in Eva Cassidy's releases. And even though it might come off as childish it still capture the title extremely well!

The song itself is anything but a surprise though. It has the weakest parts of 1f&4t + the weakest parts of D'Elles all put together. The sound carpet is horribly bland, and makes this song a total waste of album space (judged from the clip, I may come to a kinde judgement after hearing it in full). The only surprise is that still so may here liking it.

I don't speak a word of french (i have tried though) but i still LOVE it.
i adore most of her french songs and try to sing along but even if you don't understand what she is singing about then you should still respect the music, french is her native language and its what started her career so we should all be thankful for her french music.

I think with this artwork and the new blonde hair maybe they're going to aim for a more light, girly sort of feel to marketing the album, after all TC and D'elles were both quite serious and rocky (TC especially), just my thoughts anyway. Personally i love it and cannot wait to see celine out and about promoting again!!!

lol i don't think i'm hearing things. I'm not the only one hearing it. I read similar comments, after, here and on youtube. "English speaking person with an accent" is probably NOT the best description, but she uses definitely a different tone/accent for these particular words. It reminds me of Tout l'or Des Hommes.

Tout l'Or des Hommes --------------> Parler à Mon Père
A l'entré de ton "Coeur"   -----------> Coeur

Lentement en "douceur" ----------> Couleur

Au milieu de tes "rêves" ------------>Père

But now its 10 times - i wouldn't say worst - but 10 times more pronounced in the new song. She never does that in any other French songs

The cover and the song is good. The cover art is pretty and it surely looks like Celine.

Well I absolutely love the cover. I think it's different, and fits perfectly with the song. I also absolutely love the clip and can't wait for the full version. I think she sounds great, and have no comment about the accent she supposedly has as I don't speak French.

totally agree... but why does she do that .. Is she trying to put some style in her voice because that's just ugly. Celine has the best voice on earth but If I were with her in studio.. I would tell her Don't do that. Just sing normally, keep it simple..

I really don't understand either... I think she thinks she's getting a certain "western country"- style to her song when she does that. Not of fan of it at all. But like you say, she's got the best voice on Earth...i'm just glad of finally hearing a new song from her.

her enunciation in french has been bad since 1F4T. D'elles was unbearable at some parts because of that. i think producers in the studio dont dare tell her to work on that haha.

J'ai enfin écouté. J'suis d'accord avec mes compatriotes Québécois: bcp de manièrismes dans son phrasé (comme dans Tout l'or des Hommes) et eu peu trop nasal à mon goût. Un p'tit côté latin qui rappel Linda de Suza. Jolie chanson par contre. La voix est là, les tics vocaux aussi... Je préfère vocalement la Céline d'Incognito, Dion Chante Plamondon et D'Eux.

Language shouldn't be a barrier - I've discovered many amazing French songs because of Celine's incredible Francophone discography. Barely understand a word, but I still love the songs.

I don't think classical music is really the same thing than someone singing in a language that I don't understand. I do have one French album of Celine but I hardly listen to it because I don't understand what the songs are about. For me music is about the message in a song, the meaning, not just the melody or the way the person sings. No need to be sarcastic about it. Each to his or her own. And yes, I do respect the fact that French is Celine's first language, but would the rest of the world have known about her if she didn't sing English???

Come on people wheres the excitement i already love the bit ive heard so im really excited for this song!  Its summery, slightly uptempo and to me it seems like it builds up!  Im sure we will love this and im sure there is always going to be somone who doesnt like it.

BUT

If nothing else, the single confirms:

Celine has been in the studeo
The album title
and how her voice sounds (some of you say its not very good, i dont understand sounds like Celine to me haha)
When the album is out

This is a time for all us fans to be excited, its the first step to a GREAT GREAT CELINE YEAR

spot on, its not the general public i worry about, its the fans lol well some of them.

I think we as hard core fans look into everything way too much, every detail, most folks dont bother listening to every little thing just enjoy it or dislike it, i love it though so im not going to have anyone tell me its a crap song lol EXCITED is not the word! I cant wait!
