I spent the past couple of months watching movies and interviews and realised that Mr. Watanabe is far more than just an attractive man. Far more than a good actor. He is an inspiring person who truly cares for other people. Aside from being strong enough to live with numerous health issues (which makes him a good role mode for many people all over the world), he shows genuine compassion to other people. After the 2011 earthquake in Japan this remarkable man immediately visited the people affected by the disaster. He began fundraising and created a website for this purpose. He kept coming back to those people within the next year and did his best to lift their spirits. He talked to them and cried with them. This is a true person, indeed. Loving an caring, much like our beloved Celine.

We can use this topic to discuss other Japanese/Asian actors if you guys want to. Yesterday I saw the movie Ikari. I love Ken but I was blown away by Satoshi Tsumabuki. As he was crying at the end of his characer's story I was crying even more.

Latest news on Ken Watanabe, his second divorce.
On another note, Japanese director Kore-eda (a wonderful filmmaker) triumphing in Cannes. So happy for him!

Mr. Watanabe is getting more and more acclaim with his role in The King And I. Nominated for an Olivier award, I'm happy for him.
