I'm sorry if there's already a Lana del Rey topic, but I searched the forum three times and couldn't find one.

Anyway, I'm in love with Lana Del Rey!! If you don't know who Lana is, she's a new American singer from New York. I can't really explain her genre, some people call it Indie, but on her Facebook page it says Hollywood Pop and Sad Core. She's really talented and I wanted to see if there are any other Celine fans who share my love of Lana Del Rey!  :-D

Here's her single "Video Games"!












And here's her other single "Born To Die"!

'Born to Die' is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, but I'm not really too big of a fan of her voice. I might check her album out when it's released though.

I love "Born To Die"!! Her music is so eclectic!!! The music industry really needs music like that. I do think her voice is rather odd though, but it's deep, dark, and mysterious so I love it!

The SNL performance wasn't good... she was extremely nervous... She is new, after all. But watch her music video of "Born to Die" and you'll see her genius. Watch her facial expressions and the way she carries her performance in the video... she's extremely good... This is one of the sexiest and most beautiful music videos I've ever seen.

I've only heard of her because of the SNL coverage, but honestly didn't think she was that bad.  I don't know what the songs were supposed to sound like, but I think it's been completely overblown.  I wonder when she'll come out and say something about it.

i like the song (studio version). her snl performance was crap

after the furor over the snl performance, i ended up reading a blog that explained the big backlash against her online.  apparently she tried to debut as a conventional bubblegum pop artist (originally blonde and without lip injections) and when that failed her label reinvented her as some hip indie-ish chick singing sad, mellow, offbeat songs
basically she's pretending to be indie but she's as manufactured as can be

i usually could not care less what hipsters think but there is something kind of off putting about it all. ppl accuse celine's music of being artificial in its cliched triteness but i honestly believe celine is a cheesy person and thus genuine when singing it..this chick just screams fake

I got her CD Born to Die and I love every single song on it! And I'm only like that with Celine, Amy Winehouse, and John Mayer. I think it's a sign!!!

I actually did not like her whatsoever when she started out. Especially her performance she gave and everyone didn't like it (SNL I think?) . But I absolutely fell in love with the song "Carmen"   . I didn't expect it to be about that topic and Lana's sound is really different from everyone else's.

Then I heard "Video Games" love that song. Her voice in general isn't amazing at all but it's unique which I like.

The Daily What posted her video for "National Anthem" earlier today. It's slightly controversial but enjoyable, none the less.

I bought the Paradise edition for my hubby and he's been playing it non-stop for days. The album is great. I love the newly recorded songs. I also love "Ghetto Baby" which she wrote for Cheryl Cole's "A Million Lights" album.

Lana Del Rey debuts this week at number 82 on the Hot 100 with "Young And Beautiful". Though it's not a huge number, it already surpasses her 91-peaking song "Video Games". YAB was co-penned by Del Rey along with Rick Nowels, who also co-wrote and co-produced Celine's "Falling Into You."

Yes, and I'm glad also for Rick Nowels. I would love that he collaborated with Celine again. Some of my favorite songs of all time by artists like Belinda Carlisle, Stevie Nicks, etc were produced or co-written by him.

I'm also shocked that Lana has not had a Top 40 hit in the US so far. "Blue Jeans" is such a gorgeous song.

HUGE Lana fan!!!!! i just ordered her album off Amazon, should be here soon. She has gotten so much better at performing since SNL. I love just about every song of hers lol.

"Young And Beautiful" will move up the charts very soon, and could give Lana her first US Top 40 hit! Currently, it's sitting at number 10 on iTunes and rising! :D
