I never liked that song. I mean its ok, but I think it was a wise decision not to include it in the original album. It would have been totally miss placed.

I never understood why she performed a song that was never officially released on a TV show and made the effort to film an elaborate video with 3 versions of herself singing backup. Does someone know?

I have no idea, but I think the video is great and they should upload it in high resolution to her YouTube channel.

Well, it was released a year after her album, so that’s more than likely the reason lol

I think it’s a cute, fun song - but I think there are much stronger songs on TAST.

We seem to go through this every holiday season.   The song is from a compilation Christmas CD that was released in 1998 or 1999 - I still have it - called And So This Is Christmas. There was a TV special that aired to promote the album and every song (or almost every song) aired on the special with a specially created video for the TV special. So, a "music video" wasn't created for the song. It's part of a TV special.

oh yes! Christmas Eve could easily be her biggest Christmas hit. They even played it in Germany on the radio

I would love a reissue with 4-6 new Christmas songs

There were rumors a long time ago she made some new Christmas songs with David Foster. Was it just that or was it something that was true but never seen the light of day.

And what about that duet with Josh Groban, do we know what happend with that? I only remember that picture from the studio where Humberto was standing in front of a schedule and it showed their names on it.

Maybe they were recording Christmas songs for a future release, and once Mariahs AIWFC wears out and she won’t  be the Queen of Christmas anymore, Celine will release them lol

I think the tv special was called hulu or houloulu or something strange like that (there was a logo on the stage in the background of Celines performance)

The video was inspired by the 60s music show Hullabaloo, like Mariah's video for AIWFCIY.

I don't see the miss opportunity here, you can't make a song a classic just like that. If it was so easy everyone would have one. TATST had a #1 song on it, but it didn't become a classic. The Prayer, O Holy Night or Happy Xmas (War is Over) are the most liked songs by the general public, you can see it in the streaming numbers.

AIWFCIY didn't become a classic just like that, it actually made a comeback after it was included in Love Actually soundtrack and after that Mariah started riding the wave. I don't see Brenda Lee promoting Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, still it reminds a Christmas classic even for the new generation.

The TV special had the same name as the album and it was never released on DVD. I recorded it and had it on VHS for many years. There were a few interviews with Celine and I feel like everyone sang Happy Xmas (War Is Over) in their separate interview segments that were then spliced together IIRC. Sadly, my VHS collection has been banished to a trash heap when my VCR died.

I listened since you mentioned it. I can hear it! Is it a saxophone being played in both, is that also why? Can't tell my horn instruments very well...

Oh god no, i’m really not a fan of Mariah, but that song will be hard to beat in the pop Christmas culture... like she became the Christmas singer just because of that song. IMAA(OCD) doesn’t come close at all (imo).

Celine do need to release another Christmas album, its so odd that she never did or that Sony never pushed her to release a sequel. For a long time is was the best selling Christmas album of all time, after Kenny G.

Didn't mean it would have the same (or more) success as (than) "All I Want", but Céline's trademark/"flagship" Xmas song (like "All I Want" is for Mariah and like MHWGO is for Céline's English repertoire and PQTME for her French repertoire).

They should've released a special edition of the album with a few new tracks. I believe it would still count for the original album's sale. Maybe for its 25th anniversary

Once again - just as I shell out for the single on eBay so I can have a hq version, team Celine releases it. Typical. Oh well, better late than never. Plus I have it in hard copy now if it ever disappears again. LOVE THIS SONG!

I wish they had added the video, though, and not just the song. I love those Celine back-up singers so much more than I should.

Well, we've never really seen her lean into humor like that, especially for a music video.
