I'm really hoping that there are plans to have a opening night TV special. That way those of us who can't attend the show can get an idea for what Celine's going to be doing, what songs are going to be performed, etc. Any thoughts on whether you'd like this to happen or not?

I think they'll have to do something big for the premiere considering she already did 5 years on Vegas.  They'll need to let people know that this show is different.

I think a TV special is quite likely.

I personally think there is a slim slim chance of there being a TV special. Remember, in 2003 she was "coming back" from a time when she was on top of the world. Now, she has settled down a bit and is no longer on that same level in terms of what the public thinks. Not to mention, her going to Vegas was shocking in 2003, but expected now...as far as the public is concerned, they could probably care less. The demand for a special is not exactly there.

Anyway, I plan on bootlegging the first two shows. I don't care if I have to hide my camera in my underwear, lol!! I'll sneak it in somehow.

i agree with Tyler1991 in some part but since Celine did vegas and so on and people don't care that much now they would probably do a tv show for it to get people's attention, and i would guess there will be a lot of media coverage on the opening nite!

its a good idea to watch it live from internet

My guess is that if there is a new album this year, then there will probably be a special for the album again (and I really really hope that it is something like the ''A New Day Has Come CBS Special). Don't know about Vegas though...

Guys remember that the TV special from AND opening night wasn't really live, this is what the people who attended that show said but everything was prerecorded and put quickly together i think it was like 30min difference from the show and the TV Show. So no i don't think they will broadcast the show live on the internet.

The part of Justin Timberlake where he is introducing the show in the hall was live since I was there and there were a LOT of TV cameras all around and CBS staff
But I didn't see it on tv since I was at the premiere but all I can say that the Justin Timberlake part was taped at the premiere

    hell yeah, i dont know what she was thinking that night, but she wasnt on planet Earth when she maked that decision...
her make up     it could have been really cool, but with everything together haha

I hope so, it would be nice. Maybe they could do just a concert special; have one of her shows specially taped or something for television.

I can see this show being filmed, but just not for opening night, as if I remember in an interview a few months after A new day... started she actually said that she wished she had not have filmed the tv special on opening night, and that she should have waited as she was not fully prepared and it was stressful enough as she had missed a few weeks of rehearsal just before the premiere due to being ill.

But yeah I can see it being filmed at some stage.

but then again for AND opening nite special it actually wasn't the opening nite.... but from one of the rehearsal with audience
i guess they could have done it again though

I think your getting mixed up with the Oprah special:

-Oprah special - AND "premiere" - rehearsal with audience a few days before opening.
-CBS Special - AND opening night, March 15th 2003

i'm pretty clear aobut what i said
the CBS special for AND they didn't really use the opening nite footage at all but use from rehearsals with audiences (after oprah)
when they shoot for like trailer to promote and things

I think only the Justin parts were live in the CBS 2003 special.

I think it would be stupid not to have a tv special about the show, especially if there will be a new album coming out around the time

The opening night special was 3/15 I think, not 3/25....it was for sure not 3/25.

The opening night footage was recorded between March 17-20, they had signs up saying that by attending the rehearsal you agreed to be filmed by CBS. The real opening night was March 25.

Wait I'm confused so question then did the Oprah special contain performances from rehearsal and not opening night cause for some reason it looked a bit weird to me idk why but then again I only know AND in the later years not the early years so maybe it's the costumes that threw me off.

The Oprah special was recorded on March 15, 2003 (10 days before opening night) but it was only a short preview show. Celine performed The Power of Love, Seduces Me, If I Could and I Drove All Night. Here's a scan of the ticket:
