David Foster's coming to Singapore for his David Foster & Friends Concert, and our local paper interviewed him. He said he recently had to turn down a project with Celine. I think that's kinda disappointing since Celine and David have come up with some magical stuff together. And they've not worked together in so long!

That sure is interesting... :hmm:  Well it is obvious that Celine and Rene are really looking to go back to the formula they used in the past. I'm sorry to say this guys, but I don't think we are gonna see another ''Taking Chances'' album anytime soon.

Edit: I know some of you don't agree, but it is really a shame that he had to turn it down (whatever it was), because David always brings out the best in Celine vocally... I think Celine is afraid of dissapointing him, so she always kicks it up a notch when she works with him. :giggle:

Wasn't "Miracle" produced by David Foster? He didn't manage to get anything special out of her vocals in a lot of the songs on that album. Her voice is dull and her speech is slurred.

Well it's not supposed to be a vocal masterpiece. It's soft and calm, I like her voice on that album... :confused:

Me too. It's not my favourite album, but it's nice. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion. But I guess that's what it is, just an opinion.

She's sang soft and calm loads of times throughout her career, non of it sounded like that. Compare Bhram's Lullaby (recorded years earlier) with something like Sleep Tight on the same album and they could be different singers. Yes, it's my opinion but I don't think Celine has sounded as tired in any album before or after Miracle. And I do like the songs! But in terms of vocal clarity I think David could have gotten more from her. It's too reminiscent of the LILV album from the same period, she suffers from the same overly nasal and slurred pronounciation and I would have thought someone like David would not have stood for that, as the producer we know him to be.

Celine and David should work together again. He brings out the best in her and she gives it 100% when around him. The version of "Because You Loved Me" from "David Foster And Friends" was superb. She really put her all into the performance.

Well, I'm not sure whether it was an album or song he was talking about. But he mentioned in the interview about how he is busy with new artists and so on. He apparently turned down Michael Buble as well.

i assume david might turned down the "hollywood movie tribute album" project, i think this might be similar to "miracle" album

Tyler, I'm not with you. You are not talking about the lipping thing again? Come on, David has been in the music industry for years and I'm pretty sure he knows how it works and that singers lip things like TV specials. I mean even Charice lips sometimes. David was just there because he is a close friend of Celine and because he was in L.A at that point.

How dare he turn down Celine!!! lol in all honesty though, I would like to hear a colaboration between the pair again, but only with him as producer, I think the songs he writes have just become irrelevant, they all sound the same and are too overwrought with emotion, I think the time for songs like that is over. Simplicity and truth is key, just my 2 cents worth, but it is disappointing that he isn't even producing, as a producer he is the greatest

Lately, David Foster's work isn't that original . I say Celine shouldn't collaborate with him anymore because he basically gave her his best and now his song are dull. For example, Whitney Houston's " I didn't know my own strengh" (written by Diane Warren and David Foster) is most likely the lowest point of her entire album. Thank God Celine turned down David Foster!

Well I think David Foster's thing now is focusing on finding new talent and helping them develop as artistes. With his success with Josh Groban and Michael Buble, I don't think he really needs to keep working with the same artists over and over again.

I'm pretty sure that David an Celine will work together in the future. David knows her voice "in and out" and always produced her songs terrific. I'm pretty sure that he's involved in the new album too.

WTF are you talking about?! The songs on Miracle are absolutely amazing..she has such a heavenly voice on that Album. She sings me to sleep when I listen to it. You must be thinking of someone else.
