Everyone thinks they have all the answers.  Everyone thinks they should be Celine's manager and tell her everything we want her to do because we are all incredibly selfish and want Celine's career and choices to be everything we want them to be to please us.  We want her to sing all the songs that we want to hear and have absolutely no regard for the general public appeal.  I have news for most of you: This forum's fan representation does not make up even a microscopic fraction of a microscopic fraction of the amount of albums that Celine has sold, nor did we put even that amount of money in her pocket compared to what she's earned in her career.  Why does everyone feel like because we are fans, and buy some albums and concert tickets that she should be slaves to us and do whatever we please and make decisions based on what us psychopathic obsessed fans want to have (I'm included in the obsession part).  Nothing is good enough.  I am so irritated by everyone thinking that Celine owes us whatever we want to get from her.  

We are so unbelievably lucky.  I still cannot believe how amazing Celine is and what a fantastic and humble and smart person she is.  She is always all about her fans.  She has worked her freaking butt off for fans for the last 25 years!  Of course she's been well compensated, but for as hard as she's worked and as many people as she's touched, the financial gain is probably not her biggest reward.  I mean come on, she has been constantly working the entire time.  She busts her butt on tour, she sings her heart out (yes she does lip sync of course), and she puts together great shows and great tours.  I mean, come on, She's the biggest touring act of the last freaking decade, and one of the highest selling musical artists in the history of mankind.  

How can any of you complain about these ridiculous and petty issues such as "oh she didn't sing every song I want to hear," "oh she sung that note wrong," "oh, the intro sucks, Rene sucks, nobody knows what they're doing," "oh the packaging is so cheap I won't even buy the product."  Think about it.  As successful as her career has been, do you really think that nobody knows what the heck they're doing around her and that she has got to where she is by shooting in the dark?  Dumb luck?  Absolutely not.  Of course she doesn't do everything we want her to do, and we don't understand every decision that is made by her or her entourage.  Everyone needs to stop thinking they know everything she needs to be doing and realize that she does not cater to the fans on this forum.  She gives more to us than most artists ever do and we still gripe and moan and whine and continue to cry about little tiny ridiculous things.  I just cannot believe some of the attitudes in this thread.  

Everyone has every right to complain, like I said.  I am not saying this thread needs to be scrapped, or that Celine can't be criticized or anything like that.  I'm not saying we need to be blind and love everything she does or agree with everything or think she can do no wrong at all.  I just think some of the issues brought up in this thread are absurd and petty and are without warrant.  My heavens, try being a Whitney Houston fan right now.  I just feel like we should stop being so hard on her and really be thankful we have such an amazing and talented idol to love, and she continues to work and tour and sing for us and produce music for us to enjoy.  Some of us are so jaded that Celine is no longer something pleasurable to watch and enjoy, we have to criticize every freaking note of every freaking song and every freaking thing she wears, and says, and does, and doesn't do.  We nitpick her to death and we analyze youtube clips and compare every freaking performance she does and practically every breath she takes is criticized.  I think we'd all have less stress if we could just sit down, listen to her amazing voice, and just enjoy.  Or put on her concert and admire her talent and beauty and not pick apart every single second of the concert and cry about what she does or doesn't sing, and how the package photo (as if that freaking matters a single bit) isn't her greatest photo, or the one we want to see.  I just cannot believe some of the issues people are complaining about here.

Nobody is blaming Céline for the mistakes on the DVD, we are blaming Céline's TEAM for those mistakes, which is something very different Almost all of the complaints here could have been amended by her production DVD team, we don't put the blame on Céline at all, she has done enough for us, yes, TOO much I would say She did the world tour, she did 132 concerts, great. But now it was the turn of HER SONY MUSIC team, the PEOPLE AROUND HER to move their butt And they did it, but they could've done better things yet Why we can't complain about that?

Sure, there are a few people who are complaining about pointless stuff like the ending note of Alone, but for the most part, none of this is directed towards anything Celine has done. It's all about the release side.

And since this is a also a "venting" thread, I'll make it be heard that posts like the above, those that "complain about the complainers" really piss me off. This is a COMPLAINING thread. Stop trying to deny us, the consumer of the product, our right to have a negative opinion on the release.

I'm chilled, and I'm relaxed   I wasn't last night obviously, but honestly I'm not just going by complaints in this thread, there have been comments about everything between this thread and the main one, about Celine's voice, her bum notes, should have recorded on this day or that day, etc.  My irritation isn't just with the issues in this thread.  And I'm well aware that people are irritated with her team.  I am too sometimes, but the amount of issues and the things being complained about are minor and I don't know how there is 10 pages of these minor complaints.  Yes, we could list things that could have done better, but this isn't a constructive criticism thread, and there hasn't been any constructive criticism at all.  It's just a nasty negative whiny complain-y thread (which I've contributed to, so I'm not any better obviously).  And once again for the billionth time, I never said nobody can complain.

It's OK Yes, we've all complained in some way, and yes, its tiring, and sometimes even boring. I am one of those "complainers" it seems but I've never complained about Céline's doing or not doing this note or that note today, nor those stupid (with all my respects) playback issues that many people have discussed, because in the end we've had a great DVD, whatever they have done, and it sounds amazing in comparison with the Vegas one (that DVD was a disappointment for me). But I think we can complain indeed about those aspects that don't require Céline's actions at all to be made in the right way, such as the promotion of her music, the correct singles, a nice packaging for her releases, great covers etc. I think we can have an opinion about that, and that doesn't mean to spran on Céline for those things: she has the team to do that work, and they should do it in the best way possible (something that has not happened many times in the last years). So I can't blame Céline for that, because she has enough with singing 132 concerts, but I can blame and get angry about those guys supposedly working for her in somewhere called Sony Music when they release crappy singles, made poor album covers when they payed a great photographer who took thousands of photos and then they release cheap packagins and offer little to us but milking our money everytime

Going back on topic, though I have no complaints in this, I can understand those who blame Julie Snyder and her team for the bad editing they did to the concert footage. Many performances were excluded, when they could have added them as bonus material. With ANDLILV DVD we had over 3 hours of bonus footage. Why we hadn't anything this time, having more than 1,000 hours of footage? Did they forget or what?

To be honest and I know I'm sounding like a blind fan here....but do we really know for sure that these high notes from the DVD are mimed? For sure they sound different that the ones we've had on various concert DVDs. I'm choosing to believe they are live. ABM and Alone for sure sound live to me....I mean why bother pre-recodeing notes that crack and sound hoarse in places? Just watch her perform ABM in the movie where she was obviously ill.

Is it so out there to think that for the DVDs to be releleased that they are actually using live vocals? Don't egt me wrong I knwo they have used alot of playback in the past and I'm not saying it doesn't go on, or the vocals on the DVD havn't been tweaked (bloody hell MOST DVDs have this done I'd love one that hasn't been tampered with).

I do agree though that if she can't sing live on the tour then they should reduce the amount of shows. It's not as if she needs the money.

Anyhoo, the DVD is FANTASTIC!!! Such a great show, but I do agree that it's let down by the setlist somewhat. After singing the same songs for 5 years in Vegas, I would have thought she would have wanted to sing some different songs for a change instead of the usual IACBTMN, TLYM, BYLM TPOL etc. That's the Way It Is, is so under used! It was welcome to have quite a few Taking Chances tracks. Also I'm sure the vocals an the DVD are different to the ones on the CD.

The French one arrived ythe other day so looking forward to seeing that. Just waiting for the blu-ray movie and the deluxe edition to arrive.

Well in the acapella of ABM you can hear the audience and when she sings the note, then, nothing no audience 0% and at the end of the note, you can hear the audience again! It's the same for the last chorus of TC and alone!!! It's a proof they were rerecorded!

well, the through the eyes of the world movie should be seen as that extra we got. That is our bonus!
I am not so much complaining as you all are. But what I don't like is that I have 2 concerts from 2 different venues, and they are almost identical! I can play some songs which are new and fresh, but a track later I am in Boston or Montreal again, the same moves, same scene, same audio. That is the one thing I don't like. I have to skip songs now because they are the same on both dvds.
there is more to say about the cover, the package etc. but this is the main complain I have. Other than that, the dvd itself is stunning, the editing is ok but they should not have made the setnoise (audiencesounds) soo low. The dvds are of topquality and I like them more than the Vegas dvd. It is amazing but could have been more amazing with full concerts from both areas and extra bonustracks.

If you haven't noticed the lack of audience noise in your first time watching the DVD, then that's bad...but if you STILL can't notice it after seeing it a second time (and having read posts on here with the various complaints about it), then I would have to say you're being "blind" on purpose.

The crowd is going wild while she is standing there. The music starts. It's all gone. There is actually a 1/2 second where they go back into live vocals from the concert (rather than the dubbed). This is the part where she screams YEAH! towards the end. In that split second you should be able to hear audience noise.

TPOL...there is always clapping during the first "Cause I'm your lady..." ....you can visibly see that people are clapping...yet no audio of it.

ABM...during the "big note" there is ALWAYS a ton of noise! They actually did dub in a slight amount for this, but nothing like what you would normally hear.

However, isn't it possible that the audience noise was purposely faded out so we could hear more of her singing?
I expect they would receive far more complaints if people couldn't hear the 'voice' because of screams.

I'm planning to have a weekend of concert watching and will enjoy it for what it is and by who it's by and not waste my time over analysing whether it was rerecorded or not

You know, I've just finished watching the concert and whilst I don't, and never have, defended the above issues it in no way spoiled my enjoyment of the show.

Never once did I stop and start the DVD to analyze what is live and what's been dubbed etc.

I watched it as a lifelong Celine fan and enjoyed it for what is was - a concert by the best selling female artist of all time!!

I just watched ABM from the CD/DVD in Boston. Why the Hell did Celine shout between each verse "That's Right!"? She basically jinxed the whole performance of the song. They could have cut it out of the video. That's RIGHT?!

No, that's impossible. Some songs, My Love for instance, have a lot of audience noise. That one in particular has an amount that seems out of place when compared to half the other songs...even the other live songs you can hear audience noise where as the playback songs have NO audience noise at all....your theory would make sense if this was the case for all songs, but it simply isn't. :/

Listen to IDAN. At the end she screams "yeah!" ....in that half second, you can hear audience noise. That "yeah" is from the live performance while everything else is from the dubbed.

This is the part where she screams YEAH! towards the end. In that split second you should be able to hear audience noise.

TPOL...there is always clapping during the first "Cause I'm your lady..." ....you can visibly see that people are clapping...yet no audio of it.

ABM...during the "big note" there is ALWAYS a ton of noise! They actually did dub in a slight amount for this, but nothing like what you would normally hear.

I haven't watched it yet so can't comment on what you've said.
However, isn't it possible that the audience noise was purposely faded out so we could hear more of her singing?
I expect they would receive far more complaints if people couldn't hear the 'voice' because of screams.

I'm planning to have a weekend of concert watching and will enjoy it for what it is and by who it's by and not waste my time over analysing whether it was rerecorded or not

No, that's impossible. Some songs, My Love for instance, have a lot of audience noise. That one in particular has an amount that seems out of place when compared to half the other songs...even the other live songs you can hear audience noise where as the playback songs have NO audience noise at all....your theory would make sense if this was the case for all songs, but it simply isn't. :/

Listen to IDAN. At the end she screams "yeah!" ....in that half second, you can hear audience noise. That "yeah" is from the live performance while everything else is from the dubbed.

Tyler knows what he is talking about! I understand what he try to explain and he is absolutely right! My love has a lot of audience noise during all the song that's the reason what it's different in the french DVD!

Still, this doesn't change the fact that they bothered doing something about it! I'm not a fan of the use of pre-recorded samples but like I said, at least they bothered to record new samples instead of throwing 15 years old pre-recorded versions of the songs.

Hmm, regarding ABM, I think it's only the money note itself that's lipped and even with that one I have doubts because on the video her hand is shaking and it doesn't seem intentional at all. Why shaking if she knew she wasn't really singing the note? Anyway, the coming off the top note is live.

I also don't think that all TLYM is lipped. Maybe the money note and the very ending. The argument that during the lipped parts you can't hear the audience doesn't really seem like completely true because during LCMM which I have absolutely no doubts it's live, you can't really hear the audience, except for some clapping and occasional cheering.

If they did it, my kudos to them because it isn't as obvious as before!

Sorry it's all lipped ALL the note of ABM is lipped not only the ending like I thought!
Stop saying it's live please! I have the acapellas and you can clearly hear the audiance noise except when it's rerecorded (studio/no audience) Do you want to hear them???
