Hey peeps,

Found this article, while looking up "Celine Dion" on Yahoo! News, a daily ritual. I have to admit that I like this article, even though it talks about Celine's failed IVF treatment. What I liked about the article is that Celine is credited, which is quite a rare thing to happen, for admiting "that her life is not perfect". Which makes her that little bit more human to us, if you know what I mean. My point is that people refer to her as a "diva" and blah blah blah, but this article shows that there are other people, non Celine fans, who refer to her as, well, Celine and not Celine Dion. Am I making any sense here? Or do I just need to start on the beer?

this is the last line from the article...Although it's probably not the most desirable news to be sharing publicly, kudos to Celine and Rene for speaking openly about their battle with infertility. Finally, a celebrity who admits that her life is not perfect.

That's true, but a lot of people seem to think differently: "she's a celeb. She's famous, she's rich, she's got everything she wants. Her life is perfect".

The simple fact is celebrity or not no one is perfect nor has a perfect life for that matter. The thing about Celine is she is so humble but so blessed in so many ways talent, money ect. but she is still human. She is unable to conceive naturally, and unfortunately she is thrown in the media spotlight for that reason. In my eyes Celine is near perfection     Let's hope she is blessed this weekend during her 3rd try at IVF in NY!

I agree. I love her honesty. Everyone struggles in life, and it's great that she's willing to talk openly about it rather than feeling she has to hide it! Some people really do think celebrities have perfect lives, that money can buy perfect health and happiness, but it can't. She's human, just like the rest of us.

Exactly what I wanted to say everyone.....She's my hero, because she's not just a "diva" with the most beautiful voice in the world...she's human! She's a woman before a diva, I just love how she's so open and loving, she's a very warm, caring, and down to earth person. Some one who you know would be a great friend, and that you would just LOVE to be around. That's why she's family to me, because of who she is, not because of her "Divaness".

I'm glad that someone else posted this.  I have my google account set so that anytime anywhere on the web "Celine Dion" appears in a news article, I get it sent to me.  So I saw this a few days ago.  I also loved the last line.  It's so true.  Celine *is* a real person - it's part of why we all ove her.  It's part of what takes above and beyond just a "singer".  And she shows it to everyone - in her music - in her life.  I applaud her for just telling people "hey - this is me - it's who I am - it's what I'm going through".  And in this particular instance, IVF, it *is* something that millions of parents around the world are dealing with.  It's nothing for her, or anyone to be ashamed about.  I so love this woman.

SOOO down-to-earth and SOOO kind!!  I think part of it is that she grew up surrounded by love unlike a lot of young celebrities who are surrounded by just money and people who want just money out of them.  Celine was surrounded by a good family, I think that helped her grow up to understand other people and their struggles.  I she genuinely cares, which I love!  She's not a jerk like some celebrities...  But I think you can tell she has a "pure" heart, which is why she doesn't seem to hide what faults she may have, why she IS willing to admit that her life isn't perfect.  I think a lot of celebs lives aren't perfect but instead of talking about it, they keep a facade up and pretend or hide from the truths in their lives that may not be as "glamorous" as society expects from a celeb.

That's exactly why we love her so much. Celine opens up and tells us pretty much everything and that allows us to feel closer to her, like family or a very close friend. I'm sure she knows that that's the impact she has on her fans.

I'm sure with all the fans she allows into her "space" she can't NOT know how much of an impact she has on them.  But she still doesn't take all the credit even when she is told the impact she has.  I've never told anyone this (kept it special for myself for a long time), but when I met her I told her about how hard it was to lose my mom and how she "saved my life a thousand times over" and she still wanted me to know that I survived because of my strength not just because of her.  She really is pretty darned incredible.  She seems to balance that impact she has in fans lives with the impact they have on themselves, never too quick to take all the credit--gives credit where due... ya know?  Just part of the human humility she has that not everyone has...  I for one am grateful for that balance of famous and "real" that she has.

I love Celine for always being so open and honest all the time.  For a superstar she is so humble and kind, and the fame and success has never gone to her head.  She is truly someone to look up to   Thanks for the post
