Ronny83 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Daryl Hall and John Oates aren't making any new music together in the foreseeable future, but they're about to lay a load of their past material on fans. "Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music of Daryl Hall and John Oates" comes out Oct. 13 on Legacy/RCA with 16 previously unreleased songs on the 74-track, four-disc box set. Among the rarities are: songs by pre-Hall and Oates groups the Temptones and the Masters; outtakes from sessions for the "Private Eyes," "Change of Season" and "Do It For Love" albums; the original demo version of "Have You Ever Been in Love," which was recorded by Celine Dion in 2002; five performances from an October 1975 concert in London; a 10-minute live version of the Hall-written "Everytime You Go Away" in Tokyo; and live takes of "Starting All Over Again," "So Close" and the box's title track.http://www.billboard.com/news/hall-oates-r...004020611.story Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com

Ronny83 Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 DEMO!?!? Excuse me!? it was a album track and even a single! Daryl Hall is one of the composers of HYEBIL, so I think they recorded a demo of the song for Céline. Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com
dj4celine Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 It's just gonna be like 'Bleeding Love' demo version released by Jesse McCartney after Leona's version became a worldwide hit. I'd love to hear the "demo version" Quote

lindsey22 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) i did not like the song when i first heard it.I adored her low deep vocals in the beginning but damn the lyrics are so tired and played out and it sounds like it could be the TV theme song of some 80's sitcom Edited October 9, 2009 by lindsey22 Quote
fred Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Even though the song may be repetative and percived as booring from a critical point of view I find it very classy, and among Céline's finest recordings. It's timeless. Very Barbraesque. A Céline gem. Daryl Hall's version is interesting, sounds like another song, but very ok, yet the classy feeling in Céline's rendition is not there. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
winforlife Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Here is Hall and Oates version: http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/#/7 Scroll down to #13. It's different than Céline's partly because it's an acoustic version. In the 80's this duo was one of my favorite bands, so Hall's rendition appeals to my ears Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
celinesounds Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 the songs is on cd #4 http://www.amazon.com/Do-What-You-Want-Are...1415&sr=8-1 Quote #FREEJAVITO
