So I searched to see if there was already a thread for Downton Abbey but couldn't find one, and I thought it deserved its own topic as it's such an awesome TV show!

Series 4 is premièring imminently in the UK; the trailer has been released and I can't flipping wait!

I LOVE Downton Abbey!!!!  I can't view the trailer. :cry: It's not available here, which doesn't surprise me.  We probably won't see the trailer for it in the states until closer to January.  It irritates me it doesn't just come on when it does in the UK.  (Which means I'll have to avoid this thread for spoilers!!)  I got really excited for a moment..........

Sorry to all you US fans over the pond who are still waiting for Season 4 to air but it's just been announced in the UK that ITV have recommissioned Downton Abbey for Series 5!! And there is a Christmas Special to look forward to on Christmas Day as well... happy times! :D

Downton Abbey is one of my guilty pleasures. I have been watching season 4 which is fantastic-glad it was picked up for another season :clap:

Looks like the series is starting in Bulgaria later this month, I just saw a TV commercial about it.

It started in Bulgaria last night, I watched it and was really intrigued. Honestly, I'm not a fan yet but I think I'll be very soon. It reminded me of 'Gosford Park' so I liked it a lot.

I'm falling more and more for the series! Especially for Mr. Bates, my favourite character so far. Probably it's because I myself am disabled in a way so I really 'feel' him.

The first episode of Series 4 just aired in the US.  I forgot just how much I love everything about this show -- the stories, the characters, the visual beauty and interesting camera shots, even the music, which lends such atomsphere.  Love, love love.

i began too the new season, i really liked it, even if some critics think it is not as good. Maggie Smith is great.. :giggle:
Plus qu'ailleurs  , but now Si c'était à refaire  , i still love tant de temps....

Mathew's mother is very good too, and Edith. As you say, great characters , every one is good.

She's so wonderful! For me she absolutely makes the show... it would be very weird without her!

Anyway :giggle: I've watched 3 season already, I love the show like CRAZY, Maggie Smith is absolutely fantastic (wha-wha-what is a weekend??) and I love ALL the actors so I'm really happy i decided to watch the show. This is quite sad. There are shows that are so boring yet they go on and on like that Walking Dead thing whatever and there's this genious brilliant show that is gonna be over. Oh well... Maggie says her character in Downton Abbery is about 110 years old which i think is quite exaggerated. And so does think Jullian Fellows himself, he says the Dowager is like 88 or something. So in terms of reality her character could be absolutely appropriate. I hope Maggie's doing well anyway and I hope she'll give plenty of marvelous rols in future. I saw the new Marigold Hotel movie, it's cool :w00t:

There is an exhibition of 45 Downton Abbey costumes where I work. They are stunning - every detail is perfectly accurate. Many of them are wholly vintage or have reimagined vintage pieces. All are of the finest fabrics and cuts. I find it very reminiscent of Titanic.
