What do you mean? We don't have any idea about Enya's life or how she spends time besides doing her music. Because she composes her own music, but further than that, she is involved and controls until the smallest detail of her work. Absolutely every aspect, nothing is done without their consent, since the start of her career. That's why she takes between 3 and 7 years to put an album together. Everything you hear on her albums is done, played and performed by her. That requires a lot of work.
On the contrary, Céline is given everything to her and she only has to put the voice and record the songs. Every aspect and decision has been taken for her and she has a huge team to do the paperwork and take the decisions (at least that's how it's been until now). So saying that Céline is very busy in terms of how much involvement she has had in her career is a little ironic, knowing that she only had to be ready to enter the recording studio and sing. Of course she has worked every penny of what she has and she has worked very hard for (and still works a great deal!), but she has been so fortunate to have such a great manager and a big team of people only caring to give her the songs and just sing them.
And just because Enya doesn't have any children or she's very private about her life that doesn't mean she's not busy with other things
You just proved my point. Celine has a show. Multiple nights a week. So that she can be busy with her family, which she chooses to do. She also signs a contract with her record company that stipulates how many albums she's going to do in such and such a time. Enya manages her own career. She chooses when to put out her albums and how many she wants to put out. She dedicates most of her time to recording/writing, whereas Celine dedicates most of her professional time to the stage on a specific schedule so that she can keep busy with her children, and until last year, her dying husband. She also spent a bit of time in creating her handbag and accessory line, rehearsing for two tours over the last two years. She's no longer focused on back to back releases. I still don't understand why this can't be accepted.

It's all a matter of priorities (and what kind of a singer/artist one is and wants to be), and Céline's are way different than Enya or any other artist. Some people just can't grasp the fact Céline is Céline and does things her way. I can get you don't agree with how things happen, but keep wishing it would be different is just a waste of your energy; there are plenty of other singers who do all the stuff you love to see. Free tip: just start following any of the younger artist who are just starting out, it might give you much more satisfaction.
We are all busy in our own way.

That or, maybe Céline should get a manager to start of? And a young one, so that those things we'd all love to happen, start happening? Because she's without any direction now, no management and she needs one, sooner or later. Just saying

In fairness I am starting to think that a bit more management wouldn't be a bad thing. It does feel like things are getting a bit random sometimes. And someone really needs to tell her to start giving interviews again. It's all been very quiet on that front this year.
I mean I get that she is doing what she wants now and has kind of earned the right to do that, but some structure for the sake of the fans wouldn't go amiss.

Everything? Weh? Enya has always had collaborators and other musicians on her albums. She also doesn't tour and lives a private life.
(I'd love to see another full Christmas album from Enya as well.)

Yes, everything you hear and every intrument is played by her. There had been some exceptions along the way, and some "invited guests" to play certain instrument here and there, but these are rare exceptions.

Has it never crossed your mind that the reason she doesn’t do those types of songs anymore is because she literally can’t? Vocally it’s just not feasible for her to do that anymore and then expect her to be able to replicate that live when I imagine she’d have a hard enough time doing so in studio.

Ashes was not a hard song to sing at all and yet live it never sounded close to how it did in studio. The Hard Way she never sang live, which says all that needs to be said. And from what we heard, Play Me Like A Love Song was again not hard to sing, and yet her pronunciation was not good and it was never released. Watching her concerts from the past couple of years, it’s clear that on every ballad she sings, the playback track saves her, because she just categorically cannot do that live anymore. Even in The Prayer on the Courage Tour, she sings it well, but there was always a few rough notes during each performance, and that’s including the fact that it’s a far lower key. It’s something all big voiced artists face at some point in their 50s. Barbra had to do it, Aretha had to do it, Patti had to do it, Gladys Knight had to do it, Dolly Parton had to do it, Cher had to do it… once they got into their 50s, the ballads largely stopped, they started doing a lot more “speak singing”, the playback tracks came in and the keys became super low, and their vocal consistency diminished. And that’s not acknowledging the fact that Celine performed far more than them, likely making her vocal shift come even earlier than theirs did. I think the sooner people come to accept that she is not the same as she was vocally even 10 years ago, when she stopped doing as many ballads and increased the playbacks, then it will be alot easier to accept the vocal and musical choices she makes with regards to new material. She clearly has accepted it, so everyone else must too.

If this rumour about a (partial?) Xmas album in the vault is true, I would love it if "Little Drummer Boy" were somehow on there. She'd sound amazing with that. "Silent Night" too

You guys on this forum need to put to rest 2 things :
- posting your dream setlist every page of every topic as it's been lasting for 20 years
- making your point with old facts. Especially when this is right the Subject matter : time goes by.
When someone says " she won't be able to do it anymore"... first this is not to critize put to be fair to her state and then please read it correctly : "anymore" is very important. It means she used to. So saying 'well she could in 2011 or whenever it was year ago" is totally irrelevant.
She left us in 2020 with weak vocal conditions ( to her standards) and 3 years will have gone by when she's back.
So to answer you, that is how we can say she can't sing anymore some songs.
And again, there s nothing wrong with it, this is how things go naturally
