Would he hear me, if I called his name?
Would he hold me, if he knew my shame?

Agreed. I'm not a fan of the ways animals are treated at times, but I also don't think the whole "eye-for-an-eye" routine will get us, humans, anywhere in life.

The human species is built with teeth called K9s. We are ombnivores, thus built to eat both animals and plants. I agree the way animals are killed for our consumption is at times wrong and horrible. Although, at the same time I could argue that the way we get plants is very savage. Yanking and slicing parts off of plants is just as hurtful as it would be to slice a cow's leg off. It is my personal belief that plants feel just as strongly as animals. We may not understand how yet, but it is there. They can hurt. They are a living thing.

And I think the whole Pamela/Jessica thing was so ridiculous LOL. I am a Jessica fan, but I completely disagree with her meat eating/promoting. Still, how does that give Pamela the right to say nasty things like that? That's exactly why I won't support PETA. People dismiss them entirely when they act like jerks. Sad because they have some otherwise valid points. Like my Mama always says "you catch more flies with honey..."

As soon as the puppies outlived their cuteness and the kids didn't want to scoop the poop anymore, the dogs were dumped in shelters," says Nachminovitch, vice president of cruelty investigations for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). "Many of them had to be euthanized, because there was simply no place for them to go."
But what many animal lovers don't realize is that PETA itself may have put down some of those unwanted Dalmatians. The organization has practiced euthanasia for years. Since 1998 PETA has killed more than 17,000 animals, nearly 85 percent of all those it has rescued.
Yes, they really do. Vegan power !
In defense of its policy PETA has insisted that euthanasia is a necessary evil in a world full of unwanted pets.
and PETA is an *UN-necessary* evil. The only thing PETA loves is themselves. They don't love animals and even less human beings. Bitter jerks. I always wish for some Plant Rights extremists to break into their headquater and get them for torturing broccoli
