I am also excited about the new album, you can hear it on Cloud Stream, the 11 tracks I mean. The 3 additional bonus tracks can be heard on iTunes and they are unique in my opinion.
I love "Even in the shadows", sound amazing!

I'm impatient to hear the new album. I've been a fan since many years. However I hope the new album will bring something new. I heard only two new songs from the new album and even I do like them, I feel they are too much similar to some songs she created before. Sort of copy-paste. First four albums were much diverse in my opinion. I have impression that after "A Day Without Rain" she started to repeat herself.
I also hope she will make some great videoclips for her new songs. They are all unique

I agree with you. There's the era pre a day without rain and the era post a day without rain. But this new album is quite original. I like Echoes in rain a lot, it deserves a great video (something like Only if... which is my fav so far) and So I Could Find My Way. There are some others great songs on the album and a truly amazing track that it's going to be my fav from this album which is "Pale grass blue". Hope you'll agree with me tomorrow.
To me this album has nothing to do with Amarantine (I don't like this album) and And winter came, but could be a "The memory of trees"part two.

Ok, now I'm even more curious about it
I miss the songs in Gaelic. She used to make more songs in that language.
I don't like Amarantine either. I think "The Memory of Trees" is my favorite. "Watermark" and "Shepherd Moons" are close behind.

A Day Without Rain is good. It's different from the early works. Love most of the tracks. Maybe there's too much "pizzicato"... (listen to "astra et luna" from dark sky island...you'll hear "wild child") and this sound is heavily heard in Amarantine and And Winter Came and in this new album but in the last one in a diffrent way because it recalls "anywhere is" or "only if" and, well, this can't be a bad thing!
No gaelic but loxian... don't know what to say about it.

Just got this album this morning! Listening to Adele first, but then I will give this a spin or two or three! And let you know what I think!

This album is really beautiful. The extra tracks are even better than some of the standard edition. Pale Grass Blue is beyond perfection. A sorta fairytale to me.

I actually adore Solace and Pale Grass Blue. These 2 should have been on the regular edition. They are standouts!

I'm glad she earned this nomination. Dark Sky Island is still growing on me. It's a very fine album.

It's still growing on me too. I liked it more than Amarantine but it's still not at pair with her precedent albums (A Day Without Rain, The Memory Of Trees, Watermark and Shepherd Moons). I still think the loxian songs should be ommitted
And I miss one instrumental and one Gaelic song too.

I am happy to hear Enya was nominated for a Grammy for the Best New Age album - as far as I can remember, And Winter Came was also nominated, but only for best artwork. The music itself got no nomination back then.
I miss her Irish songs a lot these days - I was listening a week ago to "Deora Ar Mo Chroi" and "Isobella". I wish she would do some more Irish songs. However, DSI is a strong album. Still listening to this day to "Astra et luna", "Sancta Maria", "Solace", "The Humming" and "Remember your smile".
Hope she wins the Grammy in Feb. 2017!

"The Memory of Trees" is probably my favorite although it's hard to compare them as I said earlier they all have different vibes to me. "Athair ar neamh" is one of my favorite Enya songs ever, along with "On My Way Home".
I have only "Watermark" on vinyl.

yes, "Athair ar neamh" is an extremely beautiful song - I also adore it. Her voice is divine on that track.
What I love about "Watermark" and "Shepherd Moons" is that they both close with Gaelic songs - Na Laetha ... and Smaointe which are also 2 songs that I treasure. And when Enya released A Box of Dreams, I remember both songs are on the same disc and they flow one into the other quite very well.

That's the one I'm waiting for. A Day Without Rain it's my all time favourite album from her, and one of my favourite albums ever
Next one coming on vinyl in January is And Winter Came. Get ready

she looks so pretty. and yes, unusual of her to attend these parties. maybe it's a good sign that Dark Sky Island is the lucky winner after all
